Everytime I hear Ride of the Valkyries I always find myself singing "Vikings and beekeepers, Vikings and beekeepers.....etc."

This is much more Monty Python than the regular SCTV. Very different. They must have been experimenting.

Reading the SCTV book this sketch was a logistical nightmare and they all hated doing it!

I have always heard "Vikings & Beekeepers" in Ride of the Valkyries. Now I remember why! Thanks SCTV.

This almost looks like a Monty Python skit (vikings and spam, vikings and beekeepers!).

"They don't bite! They sting!!!" lost it. XD

"The Goddess of Compromise" well, that's relevant right this minute. I'll never hear Wagner without "Vikings and Beekeepers."

Lol dude maybe not their funniest but the concept is hysterical. What if England had sent bees over with their troops during the Revolutionary war? We'd be serving the queen now lol.

It wouldn't make any difference, we had bees, too.

I saw this on TV I guess 40 years ago (or a little less) - it was funny then and it's STILL funny. Awesome it is on KZread.

Hilarious skit. Huge SCTV fan for 49 yes and can't believe this is my first time ever seeing this!

The cast said this skit was the most brutal of them all.

Dad worked at ITV in the audio dept for SCTV. Said this was the funniest skit he saw. It didn't make it to the 90min NBC version but may have been on the Canadian or Europe version.

Actually, my comment was meant as a compliment. "Silly" when it's done as ascerbic dry/ironic humour, is a joy to behold, imo. It's the dry delivery of hyperbole & ridiculousness that makes me laugh. Many python skits, & the skit above, hit that note in spades for me. Anyway, cheers.

SCTV was better when it did SCTV instead of Monty Python, but I still like it. This one has the mark of Dave Thomas's writing pen on it.
