Screw Storage for the French Cleat - LowRider 3 CNC

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I built a new MPCNC, this time the LowRider 3, since I wanted to have more space to cut stuff. This is the first time cutting plywood.
00:00 - Cutting the parts.
00:16 - Cutting 1x speed.
00:58 - Cutting 4x speed.
02:22 - Finishing the cuts.
03:05 - Separating the parts.
03:30 - Sanding.
03:38 - Gluing.
04:33 - Getting ready for hanging.
04:63 - Finished containers.
The LowRider 3 does an awesome job, the cuts are very precise and it is a pleasure to watch it cut.

That is super cool, might have to look at the french cleat system for my little space. Also i love that little bench disk sander!

Thanks. I like the system a lot. It would be even better if I put some slats on the other walls so I could take trays, bits etc. over to the other workbench without them being in the way. That little sander is a really cheap no-name, but it is doing a great job. I don't need it for more than those edges and tabs.

Nice! Do you use a shop vac to extract the dust?

Yes, I have a shop vac with a cyclone connected to it with a blast door to adress either the CNC, Boom Arm or Mitre Saw.

this is great, my Lowrider should be together in the next weekend or 2, this will give me some projects to learn on before I start drawing my own, plus I like this system better than pegboard. How long have you been doing this?

I've been doing this for three years now and I had wanted a French Cleat for ages. You can find all my plans for free in the V1E Forum. :) Just search for French Cleat by Tokoloshe. :D

Great to see it in action. I’ve only ever used large CNC Routers, but this cuts impressively. Is that 18mm (3/4) ply?

Thanks. I also love watching it work. You mean the router, I guess? If so, a Makita RT0700C (though there now is a new version with additional security features). :)

I changed my question, as I realised it was a Makita, but thank you for replying!

@@my7hik Thanks. I plan on doing that, I've got four kids though, so sometimes it's hard to get the time in to work in the shop and make a video as well. The wood is already on the table for the next project... :D I also plan to do an introduction on the LR3 (in German) because that is kind of missing here. :)

Did you not use conduit piping or did you do some finishing work to make them so smooth and shiney?

What is the maximum depth in one pass?

  • @HaWiWe

    @HaWiWe

    Жыл бұрын

This depends on a lot of things, for instance the wood. This wood was beech wood, I cut it with 3.7mm DOC, but guess I could go deeper. I also did 6mm wide, 6mm deep in one go and a speed of 3000mm/min. It's all still experimenting. :D

Hey, it uses Nema 17 stepper motors. They are more than enough for what you can do with this CNC. :)
