Screaming V12 Matra MS670B deafens the FOS crowd
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The Matra MS670B - as driven in period by French drivers Francios Cevert and Jean-Pierre Beltoise - gets the Goodwood Hillclimb treatement at Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard. Perhaps one of the greatest sounding Le Mans winners! #gwspeed #FOS #Goodwood

Though they're 10 a penny, relatively speaking, I don't think a DFV in its sweet spot can be beaten for sound

@@jemsport It's subjective really. I think there's more subtlety and musical dimensions with the DFV at certain revs.
I first heard this engine in Chris Amon"s MS 120 F1 car at Buenos Aires 1971. You knew where it was at all times even when you didn't see it, for the piercing sound cut through all the Cosworths. I was 11 years old and it was one of the greatest experiences I ever had on a race track.
One of the best sounding cars is existence.

Only the 70s? I'd say best ever.
Matra. They came, they saw, they conquered and then they were gone. And that V12 engine is nothing short of AWESOME!!
One of the finest musical instruments ever produced. In the hands of a master, a symphonic delight to behold 😊
Best sounding car I've ever heard.

The V12 is an amazing sound. I went in 1970 so missed both the gorgeous GT40's wins (V8's of course but achingly beautiful) and the triple Matra victories. :( A very underrated company. Sad that the Avantime brought about their demise.

le son du V12 sublime
I love how the Matra V12 sounds, it's like if someone asks for the atypical F1 engine sound - THAT'S the sound you play them!
I attended the 1972 F1 race at Watkins Glen, a race wee Jackie won by more than half a minute, but is was the sound of the Matra V12 that I remember most of all. Also spent time at "The Bog" which was absolute insanity!
Gotta love the V12 downshifts 🙃
That car has more potential than that
A law should be passed that all racing cars should sound like a Matra ! 😁
Fabulous sound!
Não sei porque, mas a Matra é sempre um prazer de ver e ouvir. Sempre me pareceram a frente de seu tempo.
Beautiful.
Much much beter sounding then the turbo v6 of these days
Screaming V12 indeed.👍🏎🏎🏎👍
Proper engine, proper noise
Una belleza de auto, simpre ame a Matra
So nice, so symphonic... 👍💪💯❗🏎️🏁🤓🇨🇵
This is the sound of excitement! F1, please note!!
The V12 has to be the best configuration for an engine ever. Sure, the V10 F1 era produced nice sounding engines too but not quite a V12. If my road car sounded anything like this then I would find every reason to take it out for a drive as I empty more of my wallet pumping gas to keep driving it.

Wasn’t Simca an economy car division of Chrysler Motors ?
If I died racing this car....the last sound I heard would have made it all worth it.

I've heard one of the former F1 drivers say that current cars are too fast, you cannot appreciate the driver handling a machine anymore. Also, high pitched engine sound will always be more emotional
Amazing car and amazing sound. However, there is on thing that strikes me: at 0:20, we can se two "Girling" stickers on the back of the car. Shouldn't it be Ferodo all life, on a French car of that period?
