Now this was a timely video for me. I have a weed eater I was going to turn into a garden art project but I may just disassemble it first to remove the copper and brass before I use the main part for the art project.

I take things apart, mostly bigger things like parking lot lights for example, but I just don't have time to take small things apart, I do have some time in the dead of winter tho,.I wish I did Have more time to do it, it's awesome that you do! Great video!

I just sold a weedeater ($270 new) for $10 on Facebook Marketplace, even though it didn't work. So always try selling for parts or repair before scrapping.

If Im not mistaken what you call shread we call shearing on this side of the pond . I also wated to say I have been pulling the pins from plugs for a while now , just got a new contact for moulded plugs that can no longer wok on the appliance . this supplier has also promied me over heated and or burnt out motors ( the guy deals in small appliance repairs ( I have been trading with him for a number of years

At my yard I’m very lucky for plug in or electric weed wackers I get dirty aluminium $0.40kg or if I remover the shaft I get copper bearing motor $1.30kg and of course shred $0.20kg .. but I live in South Australia so we have some of the best scrap prices in Australia
