Man, people are salty about the jelly roll. I mean how dare she do what she wants so we can be entertained and educated for free. I personally love the fact that she used a jelly roll. I'm newer to quilting and I don't have a huge stash I can just pull from.

I am so grateful for any and all tips and tutorials from Angela! Thank you!!!! Love your style, tutorials and the fact that you're not a perfectionist. When I first started quilting I lived in a very AQS laden part of the states and the quilters were unforgiving and not very nice to beginners. I was sold an expensive machine because they told me I wouldn't be taken seriously on my lower end machine and the model was recalled by the manufacturer. Ugh. 8 years later, I am happy to learn from such a supportive and talented young woman and I make it a point to be kind and supportive to all quilters, young and old, beginner and advanced!

Angela, thank you for another wonderful video! A few years ago I participated in a shop hop where you received four or five jelly roll strips from each store. Of course none were actually part of a collection, just strips they had cut. I've wondered what to do with them - now I know and will order your pattern - definitely scrappy! I'd imagine I'll also make it with an actual jelly roll also as I liked the order of your quilt. I appreciate your chats, tutorials, and challenges more than I can say and that you provide it all to us for free is so very kind and generous of you. Thank you!

Thanks for sharing. I think this is a lovely patchwork quilt, rather than a scrap buster. My scrap bin is full of off-cuts of strips and squares that are smaller than 2-1/2”, so I have few pieces that would work for even the “scrappy” blocks shown, in particular for the place at which 4 matching corners of 2-1/2” squares come together to make the equivalent of a 5” charm square. I may try this with yardage,,, but then I’d have more scraps. 😳

  • @AngelaWaltersfmq

It's definitely not for scraps smaller than 2 1/2". Also, the placement doesn't have to be so controlled.

I like the concept, using 2 1/2 inch wide units lets me work in jelly roll strips, or even cut down leftover layer cake or charm pack squares for various units, probably even some mini charms could be used. I know you have talked about batting in other episodes, but if you sell the type of fusible batting you prefer to use It would be great if it was linked with the other supplies so I could buy some.

I have the same issue with scrappy quilts. Even when I start a project that’s supposed to be scrappy (as in from my scraps), it inevitably becomes a precut project instead because I want to control the fabric placement. Now I’m trying to crumb piece instead, and I’ll try again in the future 🤣
