Scrambler 1000 vs Renegade 1000

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

2014 Scrambler 1000 XP vs 2014 Renegade 1000 XXC
Dig racing and roll racing on both grass and pavement.
Both riders and within 15 lbs of each other.
Both riders were aiming for a non-bias comparison.
The Renegade would take the Scrambler every time from a stop.
The Scrambler would walk the Renegade from 30 and up rolls.
Bottom line - The Renegade has more bottom end. The Scrambler has more mid-range and high-end. When I say "more", it's only slightly more. Both machines are stupid fast. And one doesn't blow the other out of the water. The scrambler is a smoother riding machine and more forgiving. Both top out at 78 mph.

It comes down to what you want. I thought I wanted a Polaris. Went and bought one rode it about four hundred miles trying to give it a chance and it didn’t workout. I went and purchased my 4th can am. This time a renegade and it fit my style of riding. I lost a lot of money on the Polaris. I don’t like how big they are for a lot of reason. Mostly not being able to control them through the trails. The other big thing was mud. It’s hard enough to get mud holes then you have to deal with one set of tires in ruts and the others not. And I feel like the renegade is so much more responsive with a stock carb. You can fix that by buying an aftermarket carb. The difference in price is crazy. And when I went to trade it in at the Polaris dealer they offered me four thousand less than what I paid. When I went to Can am they offered me twenty eight hundred less. So after all was said in done I was not very happy with the four wheeler or Polaris service. Oh Polaris was also upset with me that I went 34 miles over service. So I went where I knew I would be treated good and have a four wheeler that was comfortable for me. I learned my lesson the expensive way. Glad Can Am softened the blow.

Its almost not fair comparing these two with each other. The Can Am is primarily sport and is designed to handle more MX style ridding. And the Polaris is a sport utility designed for work and play. The Polaris was intentionally set up with a slower building power plant so it will haul a load and a trailer. Were the Can will build faster RPM for getting in and out of tight corners. Bottom line is Can Am handles more recreational were the Polaris is more Dual. As far as racing its all in the launch. Both awesome machines just depends on what your intentions are. I would love to have both. If I could only choose 1 it would be the Polaris. But I am also a hunter and fisherman.

That's not true at all. First of they are both amazing machines. But they are the same class bikes. Sport 4x4. They are built to go head to head. The scrambler is a sport bike, not for work.

If you want to work, get an Outlander or Sportsman. These are only made to haul ass. Those racks on the scrambler are so small and have such a small weight capacity that you can't haul anything bigger than a small cooler.

Aaron Langworthy both sport, yes. but the can am is set up more aggressively. better lighter mx style tires and better shocks. the scrambler is a sportsman with different plastics and more aggressive clutching. But those who buy either one buy for sport trail riding and will never race.... You cant go wrong with either one. they are both very good machines.

I'm looking for some current deals on a 2015 1000 XXC but that Scrammy is nice. The Renegades look like an angry wasp and the Scrambler has that bull dog with an under-bite look to it. Since Polaris dropped 89Hp in the 1000, I wonder if Can Am will now bring out the 1000R (101hp) motor for their 1000 lineup?

They're so close in power that it comes down to which you prefer riding. I'd probably give a slight nod to the Scrambler because of the narrower mid-section due to the inline twin vs v-twin engine design of the Renegade and, although they are small, it does have racks in case you actually want to use them. You have to purchase an accessory rear rack if you want one for the Renegade.

+Dakota Huff I've always heard the scrambler was twitchy the faster you went. The renegade has a min, med and max setting so I'm not sure how that would be true. Also, I'm pretty sure they are both speed sensitive.

+Nicholas Pack yes the Polaris is twitchy and on low hands down renegade 100% i like can am though. Plus renegade is made stronger which makes it not twitch Polaris is made super thin what's sad though is the can am 1000 is actually only a 758cc engine

  • @nicholaspack7563

I own a brute force 750. It's not as fast as the 1000 but it will do better than most think versus the 800's and 850's. Its power steering is stable at any speed. It also has a very strong frame and wonderful engine breaking. I would never consider Polaris for the simple reason that they use single lever breaking. The outlanders do as well, The renegade is the best product from can-am imo but the brute is hard to beat despite the power disadvantage. They have a sharp turning radius and ride very smooth but most of all they are reliable. I also like how kawi's are geared for toque. The can am 800's have more hp but the bf 750 2012 launches harder cause of the way they are tuned, geared, clutched, etc. No comparison to the 1000's though.

In stock form (which this video was taken with both machines in stock form) - the Can Am has more low end torque response. The Can Am has that "snap your neck with a push on the throttle" feel. The Polaris, on the other hand, is a much different creature. I'm not sure if you've ever ridden in a turbocharged car, but the Polaris creates a very similar feeling in that the launch is soft and after you get going, starts to pull harder and harder - kind of like when a turbo car goes through turbo lag and then starts pulling like crazy. Keep in mind I'm telling you this after having experience in driving both of these machines and feeling these effects first hand. If you need any further clarification on handling characteristics between these two, please don't hesitate to ask as many questions as you want.
