#WeddingPhotographer #WeddingPhotography #WeddingPortraits
A detailed process of how I scout a locations for wedding day portraits. This location is in Hamilton Ontario at the Eramosa Karst Conservation Area for a wedding at the C Hotel. I go over my choices based on finding the best light and considering accessibility and timelines. Enjoy!

Hi Nicole. Do you let your background over expose when shooting back-lit? If it's overcast on the wedding day are there other areas of the park you would use?

Hi @tmhart43. I try not to shoot backlit, having the background going totally overexposed. I don't think it looks good because you lose all the detail. I find if I find a location where the backlight is filtering through something like trees, the different between the background and foreground exposure won't be as great, and I can maintain detail in the background that way. When it's overcast, I feel like I can use pretty much any area because the light is softer and even. I just check the light on people's faces to make sure it looks good.
