Good choice - I bought a 70 440 cuda and hated it - junk on 4 wheels. Turned it back in and bought a 69 gtx with a 440 engine. Best car I ever had.

Back in the very early 80’s I could’ve bought a whole MOPAR junkyard like that one for a song back then. It was in NC just on a smaller scale Probably 5-7 acres of Plymouth, Dodge, Chrysler cars. It was full of muscle cars & a lot were complete cars. I was friends with the owner & he got hooked on those Poker Gambling machines and had spent his whole life savings trying to win. He offered to sell me the whole junkyard for $10,000 & if I’d have known then what I know now, I’d have bought the junkyard and found someone with the land to let me store it all. The value of what he had on that 5-7 acres would’ve became millions of dollars in today’s market. Because this man was nothing but a 100% MOPAR man & all he had bought up every one around he could find that people had parked or the engine blew in. The property was wall to wall MOPAR muscle cars and MOPAR parts & engines. He had Chargers, Roadrunners, GTX’s, Superbees, Challengers, Barracuda’s Dusters, Demon’s, you name it MOPAR & he had it ! The only reason I didn’t buy it was the land didn’t go with it & he wanted it all bought and moved. He wouldn’t lease me the land to keep it all there. So I would’ve had to move all those cars, spare engines, spare parts, spare wheels ect ect . It would’ve taken me a long long time to move it all, if I would’ve had the land to store it. And the sad 😢 thing is because of his Gambling addiction and quick need of money 💰 for more gambling money to try and win back his life savings.......This idiot had a metal buying company bring in a mobile car crusher and he crushed and sold it all to them. What’s a shame is a lot of these muscle cars ended up like this....Crushed on site, loaded on Tractor trailers squashed flat as pancakes 🥞 , then offloaded Onto a train headed to a steel melting plant somewhere. So in the mid 80’s probably 1985 he crushed and sold for scrap millions of dollars worth of MOPAR MUSCLE. ☹️

In High School a friend of mine father owned a Chrysler Plymouth dealership. Junior year he was driving a new 383 Road Runner with the classic pistol grip and Senior year he graduated to a new 440GTX. What a great guy to have as a friend in high school. I heard he went to college in Iowa and was in a head on, hit by a drunk. Wayne, thanks for the memories.
Awesome guy's it's great when you can get the whole car and parts from the same place instead of traveling all over for them 👍🏾🤙🏼

Very nice what a shame more were not stored in the dry. All those classics and sitting outside if only we knew the extent of the worth of them the guys thought enough to collect them but no thought of how long they were going to sit, here in the UK we could just hope the scrappers knew enough to keep them. When in my youth I can remember taking parts off a vehicle in the breakers, and noting it was in better condition than the vehicle I was getting the parts for many a time in many yards.
This show and cast have been through many changes... Horsepower TV, and then 2 power block, and then power nation... Even changed networks.. TBS, then spike TV, motortrend tv... I feel extremely lucky, to have been able to watch all this... And even with the changes, it's still a amazing show...

I didn’t realize this was on KZread, which is awesome! My cable company changed things around so much I lost Power Nation a couple years ago. Subscribed!
I never knew the sales numbers dropped that dramatically for 1970. That blows my mind. I'm a lifelong, born and raised "GM guy" but I really love any and all muscle cars from the 1960's to 1972. As far as Mopars go, my dream Mopar will always be a 1970 Challenger. I own 4 Super Sport Chevelles and a 1969 GTO convertible and I've consider selling two of them in order to add a really nice 1970 Challenger RT to my garage. Not looking for a $250,000 Hemi car or anything like that, and while all but one of my Super Sport Chevelles are "matching numbers", I don't even really care about that when it comes to a Challenger. I would be happy to buy a 383 car and maybe swap in a 440 or maybe even a Hemi at a later date. I will simply ALWAYS love the look of the 1970 Challenger. But my second favorite Mopar is the 1970 Roadrunner. I came so close to buying one about a decade ago when I was 22 or 23 at an auction I went to with my dad. I bid on it to about $23,000 and I could feel the bidding coming to an end so I stopped myself from bidding anymore. If I remember correctly it sold for like $25,000...maybe $26,000. It was orange with a black interior and I just can't remember if it was a 4-speed or not. I want to say it was a bench seat with a 4-speed but I could be wrong...been so long I just can't remember. But I do remember that it was an original 383 car that had the original engine on a pallet and had a rebuilt 440 in the car. The reason I stopped bidding just shy of being the winner was because it was a post car, and I knew that as much as I absolutely LOVE the 1970 Roadrunners, and as happy as I would've been driving that thing home, after the initial honeymoon phase wore off I would've ended up angry at myself for buying a post car. Maybe that sounds crazy but that solid B-pillar changes the look of the car just enough to annoy me, and I eventually would've sold the car solely because it was a post car. Unfortunately I haven't had another opportunity like that auction come along to get myself a NON-post car 1970 Roadrunner. Some day I'd like to own both a 1970 Challenger RT AND a 1970 Roadrunner while keeping my Super Sport Chevelles. That would truly satisfy my Mopar itch. That said, I can't believe sales dropped that much for 1970 because while I don't hate the look of the '68 or '69 Roadrunners, for my money the 1970 model looks at least 10 times better than the previous two model years did. It was also the last gasp for good-looking Roadrunners and Chargers because the 1971-up models are legitimately the UGLIEST cars I have ever seen in my life. I can't even get myself started on those things because I will rant and rave for paragraphs...I truly can't even wrap my head around the fact that people LIKE the look of the 1971-up Roadrunners and Chargers. IDK what the designers at Chrysler were thinking when they designed those TURDS, but it was a great way to bring the "muscle car era" to a crashing halt. Those things look like grannymobile pieces of junk...they have ZERO redeeming qualities. "Hideous" is not even strong enough of a word for the way the 1971-up Roadrunners and Chargers look. Okay I'll stop now.

Talking about going to a auction I went to a police auction here in northern ky and in the impound the police siezed a 70 Chevelle ss 454 4 spd matching numbers ALl original with 26,000 miles on it absolutely perfect sold for 16k in about 2001 same day at auction a perfect 93 mustang 5.0 also was seized from the chevelle owner well the stang 5.0 5 speed white with red interior had 31,000 original miles sold for 5,500 and lastly a plum crazy purple hemi Cuda all original that car sold for 18,000 was worth prolly 200k easy same auction was a 79 Malibu race car 400 small block with a power glide on 28.5 slicks ran 9.50 in 1/4 mile it was sharp painted metallic silver car sold for 6,500 dollars for a turn key 9.50 et race car ppl was bitching cause they couldn't hear it run because it ran on cam 2 race gas and the fuel cell was empty . 1 last car same auction day there was a red porche 911 turbo from prolly 96 to 99 with less than 10k miles on it car ended up not selling . But the guy that lost all his cars was accused of drug dealing and wasn't even sentenced yet and they sold his stuff there was also like 5 Rolex watches that day that was his . I only came to the auction to buy car audio subs amps radios that would sell super dirt cheap I got 700 dollar jl audio w6 subs for 10 bux a piece a Phoenix gold m44 amp a big orion hcca amp kicker zr1,000 the car audio was worth over 10k and I paid 350 for all of it there was way more car audio but I won't bore the Mopar fans with car audio stuff. Overall the best auction I have ever been to in my life. The 454 Chevelle if I remember correct was that super rare high hp L88 model with around 600 650 hp it sounded like it had a racing cam in it but my dad said that model chevelle sounded that nasty. Good time.

One of my favorite things to do when I was a teen, even before I had my drivers license. Exploring an auto salvage yard... some called it a junk yard. Nonsense! Treasure hunt!
Most salvage yards have crushed old cars like this unless they keep old 60’s cars in a special area and let them crumble to rust hoping someone is willing to pay huge money.

I got a '60 Plymouth Fury me going to put a '65 bored .030 w/alcoa flat tops a purple stripe cam, a little A833-9B & Hurst shifty w/lil dana and 354 gears, complete car just needs interior cause I want to put front buckets from a '71 Satalite in it. Should be fun and don't care about value. It is a 2dr ht.
Dodge, Chrysler and Plymouth were such brave companies in the fact that they did not give a shit what their cars looked like, in fact they specifically wanted them to look like ass. God bless em. Lol I'm just breaking balls and joking around....kinda. cheers.

Junkyards here in South Dakota wont sell whole car bodies. Makes it a pain in the ass for project vehicles
Wish I had the time to search through a salvage yard for a project vehicle

If you don't have the time to search how can you have the time to build? Searching is one of the easier parts of a restoration.
Is this shop where I can go and boost my Ford 302 I am building 64 Shelby Daytona replica after watching 300 Ford engine boost I am so exited to have my 302 to be booster unfortunately I don’t think I can do it by my self
Saw a build sheet under that back seat.
Where is this boneyard at?
Are any of those mopars in the yard for sale?
If you want to drive a Daytona there is one guy on KZread that did a 06 to 68 charger Daytona body swap, and the thing darn near looks perfect factory all around
