Many have criticized Scottie for not preparing better for the U.S. Open. I think the PGA should take part of the blame for scheduling the Memorial the week before the U.S. Open. The Memorial is a signature event and Jack's tournament so it is a huge tournament which of course Scottie won. What is he supposed to do, skip the Memorial so he could prepare better for the U.S. Open. The PGA should have scheduled a minor event the week before the U.S. Open so players could have made the choice to play or take the weekend off and prepare for the U.S. Open.

Scottie is my favourite player, he wins practically everything, but what I'm bothered by is the level of competition, specifically those who defected to LIV. Would the wins be this consistent and would his domination be this dominant if everyone was in one tournament?

LIV is 54 hole with no cut and a party atmosphere that is essentially exhibition golf. I for one would rather watch Tom Kim than Brooks Koepke.

I think that Scottie's staying power will be due to his values and priorities in life and competition. Be a husband and father first. Show up at each event and just have fun and focus and compete, and don't get ahead of yourself. Don't think about anything else other than the next shot, and if it is bad, live with it and do the best you can from the next place. This kind of even-keeled athlete is more dangerous than the adrenaline junkies who think too much about what everything means to them as a celebrity, etc. Scottie will avoid the Tiger syndrome, where excessive money and celebrity led him to becoming a playboy and a cheater, and endless tinkering with his swing led to several down times over his career. Scottie has the potential to have a career more like Jack Nicklaus - another great family man.

Like so many of us I’ve been a fan of Scottie since before he won his first tournament. I just wish Bryson, Brooks, Rham, and Cam Smith were still competing against him. The PGA just has the feel of a slightly diluted field. Not judging whether LIV is good or bad, just stating a fact. Also am a fan of Tom. He’s a very entertaining golfer for sure. And I wish these damn climate activists would all get dumped in Siberia for a pentence. Maybe then they’d wish for warmer weather.

Yawn, just another boring tournament, feel really sorry for Tom Kim not to win, he would have needed it more than the worlds most boring player that unfortunatly also is the best player. Would be great to see some Bubba Watson, John Daly, Tiger Woods, Bryson DC, Seve Ballesteros characters on the PGA tour that will draw interest to the game again and make kids want to play. It is just as exiting to sit and look at a newly painted wall dry as it is to see the likes of Scottie Sheffeler,Xander Schauffele,Patrick Cantlay play golf. But, congrats to the man, he is the best, unfortunatly for the game though.
