I saw Mac play a seniors tour match against Michael Chang. During the match, McEnroe stopped play, when a baby began to cry. He looked up towards the mother and told her to do something about her wailing brat. The thoroughly embarrassed mother hastily left holding her crying baby to her breast, and the crowd rained down the BOOOOs upon Mr. McEnroe. Never one to either back down, or hold his tongue, much less show contrition, McEnroe then popped off through his mic'd up amplifier, " Whadda you expect? I'm from New York." Michael Chang then showed class when he spoke up that the sound was "music to my ears", "I am the father of a new born myself." So whenever they get to discussing class acts like Federer & Nadal, and then cry me a river over guys like Djokovic ...,

John is avoiding to speak the whole truth. The main reason for the hatred against Djokovic is because he was severely massively relentlessly demonized by the media because he refused to submit to experimental medical dictatorship. And after the smoke is gone in many ways more people hate him because they refuse to accept that they accepted to be on the really losing side. And are too scared and/or too proud to admit that they have been fooled, badly. Or that they were/are cowards.

You’re entitled to your opinion. Most of the great players have reverence for those who came before them and whom they are playing with pm the tour. And when Novak was even a younger player he always had an excuse and withdrew from matches due to “ injuries “ He mocked other players like Nadal and Federer who were better than his was at the time. You don’t see Carlos Alcaraz doing that and Carlos is younger than Novak was at the time. This is why so many people dislike Novak. They look at the whole picture of who a “ star player “ is and not just the win and loss column.

So now let me say what it really is: The reason why the elites hate Novak, is that Novak stood up for the oppressed masses being forced to take an injection!!! Of course all the bootlickers in the stand and in the media hate him for the COURAGE to stand up to overwhelming authority! Even making huge personal sacrifices - booted out of the Australian Open.

Nobody booed Nadal when he had the nerve to break Federer's record and spoil the party. I am sure that, Nobody will boo Alcaraz/Sinner who may break Djokovic's record and spoil the party. Johnny Mac is absolutely spot-on. Plus, of the different things that came up during this interview, he pointed out that very soon after Novak's knee surgery, which in and of itself would have sidelined many if not most other players, he was BACK playing a major tournament, and continuing to WIN matches ?!?! What we've seen over the years with Djoko simply is beyond what ANY other tennis player as ever accomplished.

@@pharmavinay I have been the diehard Federer fan for the longest time. The 2015 USO final turned me into a Nole fan. He literally played against the entire stadium and walked away as the winner. The crowd was cheering for his double faults and unforced errors, and yet he single-handed silenced the mobs.

Djoko is smart, says all the right things, makes the right jokes but he just appears insincere and just communicates in a calculated way with PR in mind. At the end of the day, we know he's just a anti vax, pro putin, right wing christian conservative with eastern european supremacy mentality ready to crush anybody and everybody. Djoko's sportsmanship is just for show.
