He didn't truly sing this. This is a POOR cover.

What a chameleon, dude could cover anything from Alice in Chains to the Doors to Radiohead, what a very very talented man. Rest in Peace Scott, the most charismatic frontman of the 90s

I love this song, love Depeche Mode, and I really like this version. Different, but really nice cover by Weiland!

Weiland wasn't only a masterful chameleon--he was unpretentious in his willingness to do "covers" and even a sincere Christmas album. How many other top shelf frontmen are (a) this talented and (b) this willing to do what they love even if it's not "cool" at the moment? You are missed, SW. RIP.

He was awesome,! saw STP with Linkin Park, Static X, and Staind in 2001, can't believe 3 of the lead singers from that show have passed on.

Listening to him on his anniversary today, December 3th 2020 R.I.P

Weiland is impressive with how many voices he is capable of doing.

Saw him in Baton Rouge 3 weeks before he passed. He put on the show, yet just went through the motions. Still extremely entertaining since I'm such a big fan. He had lifeless eyes as if he knew the end was near. Very sad. A true and amazing talent.

Such a huge fan Scott was there for me since I was a teen in the 90's. I was lucky enough to see him 3 times once with STP, then with velvet revolver and once with my wife at his happy in golashes tour. Probably didn't spell that right but whatever I miss you a lot scott rest in peace brother.

Great job. He was capable of singing any cover and everyone knew he was. Wish he could have gotten his addiction under control and put out a 100 more albums. I got a lot of great memories listening to and seeing Scott perform. Like a soundtrack of life that unfortunately came to an end. I miss this mans creativity and uniqueness. Cant be replaced or replicated by another ever.

Missing you brother.

I'm not sure if the original meaning when written by depeche mode but almost seemed like it was written for Scott.This is song appears to be about a drug addict finding one night in sobriety and discovering the world around him and how beautiful it is. He appreciates the little things like being wet, the wind in his hair and the stars, the moon and the rain as he is not high and in debauchery. On this night his eyes are not red and he is not mistaken for dead since he is not using. That's kind of ironic in hindsight. Unfortunately Scott had too many of the other nights that costs him his life but hopefully he had beautiful nights like this as well. Any thoughts?

lol WAYY better is overdoing it. Martin probably a bit better since he wrote it, and it is his emotions in the lyrics. But Scott can clearly relate to the lyrics. to me it shows anyway.

Look up "Depeche Mode - But Not Tonight (Austin City Limits, Austin, TX, USA)" in youtube, Martin is a straight up singer. I will say however, Scott Weilland had the amazing ability of singing in all different voice ranges.

is scott weiland dudee !! if u want to know the grunge go to the 90's and listen to stone temple pilot ! theres a lot bands beside Nirvana ... and well this cover is not so good he could do it better or maybe with another song, but who cares ! if u know who he is u can say that this singer has a lot of talent and shouldnt be criticized like people do often. i respect him i love how he write songs and he's without doubt in my top 10 favorite singers.
