Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Secret Shops

In this video, I'll point out the 2 secret shops in the game that you'll want to be spending your money at. The first shop is on the 2nd half of the first level. Kill (or don't kill) the first enemy inside the tunnel. Near that enemy should be some graffiti on the wall in the shape of a Star. Walk into that, it's a secret door. Wallace will sell you some nifty items. The "Bionic Arm"s will give you +50 Strength, buy two of those. "The Never-ending Fantasy" will give you +30 Defense and +30 Weapons, buy 3 of those, then buy one "Vegan Cookbook" and one "How to Study Hard" from the bookstore just to even them out at 100 (that's the max your skill can reach). "Speedy the Porcupine" gives you +50 speed, buy two of those. The 2nd secret shop is on level 6. When you find the statue with the key inside, you'll know you're very close, it's not very far from the start of the level. After fighting a few more enemies, you'll see a group of NPCs standing around (2 on the left, 2 on the right) next two a couple of trees. Walk UP between the two trees to enter the 2nd secret shop. The only reason you should need to come here is for the Secret Technique #2. You learned the 1st secret technique from hitting level 16, so you may have been curious why you didn't have it before. I'll add annotations to this video just for the sake of providing reference to those who don't read the video descriptions.

LOL The bus's header says drunk...that explains why I always got run over...
Heh :-) The gnome that appears on this level so you can beat him up to get money is a reference to Golden Axe :-)
Struggled with level 2. Buys upgrades after money "glitch" Beats it in 2 mins
@H4MBY They aren't items you equip, it's just items that you consume on pickup, so buying two bionic arms, giving you 100 for the two together would max out your attack.

@draganovkassiar I've read the books, I know what you're trying to say, but the bionic arm couldn't possibly be a reference to Scott Pilgrim characters unless you think the Speedy the Porcupine and Never-Ending Fantasy are also Scott Pilgrim references. The game has been poking fun at other video games rather than itself. If you really want to insist that, then I can't change your mind anymore than I can change the color of chocolate ice cream. Chocolate plus Strawberry is still chocolate color.

The bionic arm is the drummer girls arm that NV smashed off
@ClipNco I'm pretty sure the Bionic Arm is from Bionic Commando. Bioshock is not retro.
@LeBronFilms Nah, its a play on the magic pot dropping guys from 'Golden Axe'. Was very cool to see them throw that in there.
I always thought never-ending fantasy was a reference to the never-ending story, but final fantasy makes sense.

@ClipNco actualy bionic arm is a scott reference to the drummist in the clash at demon head forgot her name but its a band in scott pilgrim and she posesses the bionic arm

+l33tsamurai They are consumable items that add 50 to a stat. Buying two Never Ending Fantasies would provide you with +100 total to that specific stat.

@ClipNco bionic arm is from bionic commando. XD and bioshock isnt a retro game like the others

This has got to be one of the hardest and most annoying beat em ups ever made. I've heard only good things about it, for years. But now it's out and for sale again for Switch, I've finally tried it. The levels are WAY too long (literally 30 mins long, no exaggeration) and if you die to the boss, there's _NO_ checkpoints, you have to go back and play the whole 30 minute level all over again. It's so regressive in design. It's Nintendo hard, not fair hard. The challenge is patience, not skill. You have to be patient enough to go through it over and over. Games shouldn't be a test of patience.

It's stupid hard only if you don't upgrade your stats, that's what stores are for, although, yeah, the game never tells you that
