Meet charming and jobless Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera). A bass guitarist for garage band Sex Bob-Omb, the 22-year-old has just met the girl of his dreams...literally. The only catch to winning Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead)? Her seven evil exes are coming to kill him. Genre-smashing filmmaker Edgar Wright (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) tells the amazing story of one romantic slacker's quest to power up with love in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
Scott Pilgrim has never had a problem getting a girlfriend. It's getting rid of them that proves difficult. From the girl who kicked his heart's ass-and now is back in town-to the teenage distraction he's trying to shake when Ramona rollerblades into his world, love hasn't been easy. He soon discovers, however, his new crush has the most unusual baggage of all: a nefarious league of exes controls her love life and will do whatever it takes to eliminate him as a suitor.
As Scott gets closer to Ramona, he must face an increasingly vicious rogues' gallery from her past-from infamous skateboarders to vegan rock stars and fearsome identical twins. And if he hopes to win his true love, he must vanquish them all before it really is game over.

@kanonochi Envy Adams' stage performance in the third book was inspired by Emily Haines years before the film was made.

And I have to say.... the director made an amazing choice for this band and this song. Now I can not get this song out of my head and I so want to learn the bass parts and have been practicing it on the guitar and bass. Rock on! This song kicks ass!
Love Emily, love Metric, love everything about the movie!!! If you haven't yet... GO SEE IT!!!!
Great song. Was soooooo good for Envy!!
... the band didn't look like metric because they were already created before metric was approached for the song...

I know this is a crazy old comment, but she's referring to the fact that the character of Envy from the graphic novels is based on her (Emily Haines). Bryan Lee O'Malley based Envy's design and character on Emily Haines' stage persona (but has repeatedly clarified that Envy's personality is in no way based on Emily Haines' personality in real life 😅). The guy's a huge Metric fan. It's why they were asked to provide the music for the film.
Epic song!
badass!
@kanonochi sure, but even edgar wright called them a "pastiche version" of metric
why is she wearing sunglasses.
@Novacgaming Um... Metric was also in the third Twilight. Just throwin' that out there.
If you read book 3 you get to see Todd making out with The Bionic Drummer!
Ironic...Black Sheep was the Black Sheep of the Album.
I'm in lesbians with her....
No idea what the deal.is mike has no.idea I deleted...
Scott Pilgrim didn't have appeal for the masses, yes we all love it and think its awesome for a bunch of reasons, but most of us are geeky guys who understand all the references and jokes. For most people this movie is silly or way too fast paced. Also Twilight had a huge following before the movie came out since its also a book (a shitty one, but a book anyway), so yeah, my point is, SP wasn't successful cause it didn't have the mainstream appeal we all think it has.
@TheBeatlesFan1100 true
@Novacgaming I figured that, but this is kind of a Metric-related video, so hating on something they've been in on a video about something else they've been in is kind of douchie.
i don't know how expendables beat scott pilgrim at the box office..?? i guess they advertised it more..(the expendables) it's disappointing.
