Kid named all:
I woke up today and the first thing I did was grab my guitar and start messing around with this song about an hour ago. No layers or anything, just the melody. It's addicting to play and catchy. Crazy that this gets uploaded around the same time :)
@kurtisparker

THIS! People's number one complaint about Ployphia is that it's "too complicated" so it get's boring to listen to, which is a fair statement for some. But if you extract the melodies from their songs they are so god damn catchy! And truly, no matter how complex they get, you can ALWAYS hear the melody strung throughout the "flexing." Many of their works are truly compositional masterpieces when you really see how they are put together.

@SK i would certainly have to agree with you. Dudes are some of the most if not the most incredible guitar players there are. I mean no disrespect to the greats but these guys have the most incredible picking skills. I can play their songs, but I am not great at many of them and I make a lot of mistakes most of the time. They play clean a lot too which makes it even harder. Cant cover up those mistakes as well lol. I get lucky and get a clean run sometimes lol. Every song is unique and beautiful. I can't wait to see them. I recently discovered them when Playing God and Ego Death videos came out, and now I have all of their albums lmao. They're coming to Louisville this year, and I will be there to see them!

@@SK23. Yeah there are plenty of math rock and metal bands where that is a valid complaint, but that is definitely not the case for Polyphia. Their whole thing is a solid melody with a bunch of embellishment.
ofmg they did All Falls Apart, I feel its often overlooked and its an absolute banger. Its one of those change your life at 3AM songs.
can we all just take a minute to appreciate how fucking good that line from 1:04 to 1:07 is. it just works SO well

One of the most enjoyable ads I've ever watched; Polyphia is so sick
Scott should start his own guitar company called Ibanoze
A well deserved signature from Scott! Fantastic Guitarist.
You'd think as successful as polyphia is they could afford to heat the spaces they play in. Scott and Tim always rocking these jackets and sweaters.
@Healcraft

was thinking they have to be in cali so why do they need heat, but apparently they still based out of texas? and its actually cold in texas, weird. Well as a Canadian I don;t know non-cold but still

First one to comment I think :) Both guitarists of polyphia are insanely talented and I hope they’re gonna bring great music for a long time!

Also interesting that he predominantly uses the ring finger for octaves, saves the pinky for the B and E octaves.

@@dpmodouble1582 I haven't really seen people use pinky's for 5ths or octaves (unless you're using your middle finger for the bass note) since my friend's used to do this in 5th grade when we were learning guitar 30 years ago.
I love his frasing, so creative!!!!!

I kinda wish this sig had 22 frets with the HSS configuration like the last one, but I guess there would be no point just doing the same thing twice.
