Scott Hall on nWo & Why Hulk Hogan Joined The Group

Ойын-сауық

Scott Hall reveals the full story of the nWo faction - Hulk Hogan joining, why it had so many members and Vince McMahon ultimately squashing it in WWF. Stream New Shoot Interviews 📺 TitleMatchNetwork.com
RIP to the late-great Scott Hall. Here the Bad Guy talks about arguably the greatest pro wrestling group of all the - the nWo. When you talk factions, nWo or Four Horsemen are usually the top two names mentioned.
Scott discusses how Larry Zbyszko came up with the idea for how he should enter World Championship Wrestling. Originally Eric Bischoff wanted Hall to walk down the ramp but Larry suggested he go through the crowd instead and interupt with a promo.
Find out how Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and later Hulk Hogan absolutely changed the game in WCW. If you didn't live through it you won't understand how big the New World Order was.
Hogan had creative control and decided to join the hottest heel group in the business with Hall and Nash. Hear why the nWo added so many members and how it got watered down.
Then get the full story on the return of the nWo in WWF.
Vince McMahon started pushing the faction huge in the World Wrestling Federation but according to Hall he squandered it because he didn't want to admit Eric Bischoff was right.
Scott also goes into detail on his Wrestlemania X8 match vs Stone Cold Steve Austin and why he says it was decent but not the best of his carrer. Finally we hear why the nWo vs DX storyline never took place in WWE.

Scott Hall is pretty frank about his comments but the NWO up in the WWF/WWE was already an over done deal/gimmick at that time. No recreation of a faction in any company is going to go over like the original place and time it started. Big pops for heel or face turns and the start of a faction has to have the right build. In the case of Hogan turning heel, the WCW capitalized on years and years of the face Hulkanania gimmick as created and built in the WWE. So when it happened, even though years before Hogan came into the business originally as a heel working with Andre then, the shock of the heel turn was just epic proportions. That was one opportunity that got away from McMahon. But bringing the NWO to WWE? Just wasn't as cool for the simple reason that the NWO in WCW went over on practically all the babyface talent over a period of many weeks and months of build up. Everyone, including heels, in WCW was a target unless they joined. Too many ultimately did join because they saw it as an opportunity to perhaps rise above mid-card status even though their talent wasn't good enough. Virgil/Vincent, Horace Hogan, Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton, Brutis Beefcake, there were others that cheapened or watered down the gimmick. Then the darn thing went black and red along with black and white. But they put alot of time in building up the NWO in the beginning. Vince would have never let a group like that go over his faces for such a long time, Rock, Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, Undertaker, getting beat down with NWO sprayed on their backs. Just would not have happened up North. Bischoff joining the NWO from his annoucers position. McMahon would have put himself over in that position. Oh well, it is or was what it was, something that made some money and then just sputtered out.

Being drunk on TV was not a parody for Hall it was reality. He was a drunk and junkie. Plain and simple. He ripped people off and couldn't care less because he was more concerned about being a drunk

Austin was a wuss at this time. No respect for Elder Statesman of WWF who were huge at elevating WCW in a Big Way.

Scott Hall was hardly "great". There are many shoots on youtube where other wrestlers say he couldn't work worth a crap.

Hulk had a decade of the red and yellow gimmick and it had become stale. Happens to everybody. Austin started to get stale in 01’ just 5 years into his run on top. Hogan without even knowing it, had the power to create another wrestling boom like he did in the 80’s simply by turning heel. Wrestling became must see tv again. That’s the power he carried.

People can say what they want about Hogan but he knew how to do business and how to work the crowd. It didn’t matter what side he was working he was the ultimate baby face and the biggest heal.

When Hulks n word controversy came out he should have came back as a racist and fueded with New Day that was their peak time. He could have had an iconic 3rd run "I didn't know you could buy front row seats with EBT brother"

@@chalkbodyoutline that’s exactly what Vince would’ve done in the 90’s but everything is too PC now and everyone’s a pussy and afraid to offend somebody. But that would’ve been funny.

No Hulk Hogan, NWO would have lasted one month.
