He's not, your opinion is.. the roles he gets speak loudly how he is regarded by the industry. The public are fickle.

Marc Maron recently asked Glenn why he converted to Judaism, the religion of his wife, Carol. Initially, the rabbi Glenn approached was reluctant in allowing it. He went on to explain to Marc that, if there was no such thing as anti-Semitism, they wouldn't be having this conversation. But, when the rabbi asked Glenn why he wanted to convert, he explained that they enjoyed traveling around the world. He then said, "if a gun was ever pointed at my wife for being Jewish, I wanted the gun pointed towards me as well." Listening to his explanation was worthy of an Oscar all by itself, reducing me to tears given both the nobility and sadness reflected in his words. Needless to say, the rabbi changed his mind.

Red October is one of his best! Clancy wrote the character with an Italian background, not resembling Glenn at all, but Glenn made it his own and I can't think of anyone better. He was perfect.

Scott Glenn is a legend. Makes me think of all the movies I used to watch with my Dad as a little kid - and he was in a lot of them. I probably watched Silverado 10 times on HBO back in the day when I'd go stay with my Dad on the weekends. Scott Glenn always stood out in everything he was in. He just has a commanding presence.

This guy is the the real deal. Love him in everything he's in.

If I told you the plot synopsis you would think it was another stupid apocalypse show (which it is at times) but it transcends that and ends up being a profound and hilarious show about the search for meaning in the face of tragedy

When he is on screen you can’t see anything else and he makes it look so easy.

That's one of the best horse stories I've ever heard. Ajax, what a bro.

He's a great actor and seems like such a cool man.

First movie I saw him in was Silverado, loved him in Training Day.

Nothing left to say....Glenn is a legend and a hardcore man. Respect. He can stand with any director and any other so called leading man. Anywhere. Anytime.

One of the great unsung, larger than life, guys to ever walk the big screen...

The Right Stuff: One of my top 10 movies. Silverado: One of my top 10 favorite westerns. The Leftovers: Possibly the greatest tv show of all time. Thank you Scott Glenn for being a part of those.

He could have played his father in LA Confidential

The way he described the relationship between Crawford and Clarice in Silence of the Lambs is exactly how I felt when I watched the movie. The two moments where he touches Clarice were so powerful because they were both signs of respect towards her. The gender discrimination was prevalent in the film, and Crawford saw that, but he never stooped down to that level. Instead, he gave her a shot and wanted to see if she could step up to the challenge. The moments where he touches her come towards the end of the film for good reason. In the first moment, he's basically comforting her not because she was emotionally weak and needed to be held, but because she was a trainee that just went through a traumatic experience. The second moment where he shakes her hand is where he accepts her as not just a female FBI agent, but an FBI agent period. Brilliantly done!

Buffalo Soldiers (2001) with Scott Glenn, Joaquin Pheonix, Ed Harris, and Anna Paquin. Glenn's awesome in this totally underrated film.

What an incredible actor! Anyone who can convincingly play a bottom of the barrel scumbag (Urban Cowboy), a larger than life hero (The Right Stuff), and a nerdy administrative type (Silence Of The Lambs) without letting any of the characters' vast differences bleed into each other is OK by me.

I saw "The Challenge" in boot camp at Parris Island. Every Recruit and D.I. in the theater left jacked up. Great memory.

I loved all his low budget stuff...The Challenge, Wild Geese 2, Man on Fire, Extreme Justice, Slaughter of the Innocents, Night of the Running Man etc

This was good. I had forgotten how many roles Scott had played.....because he played them so well, I forgot it was him.

I'm glad GQ involves underrated actors/actresses as well! There should be a slew of videos for people like Glenn. I vote David Strathairn next!

LOVE Scott Glenn! He was in my all time favorite movie (he played Mercury astronaut Alan Sheppard in "The Right Stuff"). My teachers teacher was also in that movie! (Jeff Goldblum).

Awesome actor and story teller.

Silverado was one of my dad's favourite films and I remember watching it so many times that it became my fav too.

The Original “Man on Fire “ with Joe Pesci, Secretariat, Urban Cowboy, Silverado, My Heroes have always been Cowboys, The Right Stuff, Silence of the Lambs, Hunt for Red October, Wild Geese II. And a real World Force Recon Marine. It makes me Mad that he’s never won a Oscar.

This is the best GQ episode I've seen so far. I've pretty much have seen most of the actors they've interviewed. This man's stories are epic!

In Altman's masterpiece NASHVILLE (1975), Glenn provides welcome humanity and almost wordless gravitas as a recently-returned veteran of the Vietnam War. If you've missed it, you've missed one of his great and most understated performances.

Been binging these for a couple days now and this man is the most engaging, best storyteller I've seen. If love to see a part 2 with some of the edited parts and expanded stories...

Loved him as stick, never heard of him before Daredevil but I'm glad I discovered him this dude is the real deal what a badass
