true, i can't think of many other casting choices for an iconic character in a movie tbh, like maybe Leo for Wolf of Wallstreet, or Jack Nicholson in Shining. Shoutout also to Tom Hardy for his role in Bronson, a very underrated performance in my opinion. Now you could ofc always go with Stallone for Rambo or Rocky, or Arnie for Terminator, Bruce Willis for the Die Hards but those became iconic more because of the type of movie they were in not because their acting was particularly masterful in itself.

Ross Edwards according to John Goodman, when Jeff talks with you, he makes you feel as though you’re the only one in the room. That’s an outstanding quality to have. He just seems like a really chill, really polite and interesting guy. Love this guy!!
Jeff acting in Starman is two levels above epic. Few actors, imo, can play an alien that is completely unaware of how to act and behave towards eveything around him. He does it... perfectly.

I'd say the majority of the famous people I waited on were down to earth but both Jeff and Beau were so natural and kind...normal guys. Jeff acted exactly how he is in this video in real life. I love this GQ series of actors talking about their roles could watch it all day
Actors ACT. It's what they do. They spend their entire professional lives pretending to be something or someone they are NOT. So I'm always very reluctant to form any hard opinions about what kind of person an actor is by their interviews. But there's just *something* about Jeff Bridges that burns right through all that an convinces me at a fundamental level that what we see here is exactly what we get! As brilliant an actor as Mr. Bridges is, I really do not think he's so good that he could convey such profound decency if it weren't there.

Absolute legend. Wish he talked more about "Tucker: A Man and his Dream". He played him as half Howard Hughes, half P.T. Barnum. He also had a great line with his dad playing a Senator conspiring to block the Tucker 48: "Well, that's something I thought I'd never live to see, a politician with his hands in his own pockets."
A bit disappointed that The Fabulous Baker Boys wasn't mentioned, that one is a hidden gem.

Me too... It was such a beautiful film... And his performance...
Truly one amazing person and actor. Everytime he's onscreen it definitely commands attention.
I love how Bridges natural personality proves how he is the only actor who could play "The Dude."
Nice to hear a Hollywooder with an actual brain and personality.
I could listen to him tell stories all day. What a cool dude.
What I love about The Dude is that he seems so out of it the whole time, but he really is the only person putting all the information together in a rational way through the whole movie. He's really observant and clever, he's just, like, you know, The Dude, man.
In 1976 I was working in a cinema in Lausanne Switzerland when the de Laurentis version of King Kong came out. I saw it probably 20 times dubbed in French. At the time I had no idea that Jeff Bridges - only a few years older than me - would become one of my favorite actors. Interviews like this only strengthen my appreciation. Bridges is a real gentleman, making others feel comfortable and sharing the credit with not just other actors but everybody involved.
Jeff Bridges, rocking that shirt.

He will always be known as the DUDE. Big props to an excellent actor.
something about this man makes him seem so welcoming and warm, i guess its his voice but i really feel comforted when i hear him talk, also such a fatherly quality about him or maybe thats just me lolll he should narrate movies he has a GREAT voice
I loved watching Jeff talking about these roles, he seems to be a great guy to hang out with! Though, i think you passed one of his greatest roles in one of my favorite movie, the Fisher King

Jeff bridges is my sci fi childhood ... TRON and star man are beyond mind blowing !!! What a dude! Just gives me warm feelings !!!!
The Dude is and always will be my favorite character in the history of movies. They should have just done a video of Jeff Bridges talking about that movie alone. It’s just one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and never be bored because it was so amazing.
I love this man so much. A national treasure.
Starman. Most nuanced performance but Jeff is aces in everything.

I saw starman in the theater back in the 80's by myself at age 7. I had a level of independence that made me feel like a king!!
Jeff Bridges is a critically acclaimed actor/thespian and super cool dude! His father and fellow actor/thespian the late, great; Lloyd Bridges(God bless his soul). Brother Beau Bridges is a great actor/thespian as well.
jeff bridges is one of the most genuine souls we got left💯 absolutely love this man
I would love to listen to him discuss all of his experiences on set. He's a great man!✌
Down to earth, humble, and very likeable. God the man has aged like fine wine.
They forgot about Against All Odds, Wild Bill, Jagged Edge, and American Heart. This dude is extremely modest sounding in this video.

I think I would rather they do this series about these great actors' WORST movies! They would have to do Blown Away for Bridges here. That was good but it was also terrible.
I could listen at Mr Bridges forever! This is one of those walking pieces of art. All the best to you and yours!
Jeff needs a podcast I could listen to him for hours a day
