Although it may not be obvious from the video audio, for my teacher and I, the Scott Cao STV-017 is the absolute winner. It looks more like a vintage/reliqued violin with character and feels soft in hands.
So I received 2 violins to choose from:
Scott Cao STV-017E vs Aileen VH100T
and 2 bows to choose from:
MV001 vs Aileen WV900C-B (Both Carbon)
The Scott Cao violin is amazing. More expensive but the sound is so much deeper. The Rode Micro microphone is not picking up the awesome low end of this violin.
We also liked the more expensive and beautiful Aileen WV900C-B bow, it has nice weight and feels better under the fingers.
CAMERA GEAR USED:
Camera: Canon 80D with Rode micro (audio levels were set to auto, that's why I had to use noise filter and my talking part sounds strange).
Editing: Adobe Premiere CC.
Microphones: Rode Micro, Zoom H1, Shure SM57.

The Cao has a more open sound. Sometimes after being played a lot you can get a more nasal or boxy sounding violin like the Aileen to open up. I get what you are saying about the antiquing on the front of the car but the flaming on the back of the Aileen is beautiful. I would have gone with the Cao based on sound too.

Thanks for updating the description. My son has played violin since he was 4 (he's 13 now) and he really likes this song too. I'm going to have him watch this video because it's interesting. And by the way, thanks for your comment about my song -- by the way, my music is also available for streaming on Spotify, if you ever listen that way . . . .
what about scott cao stv 17 compare to otto ernst fischer OF 450? can u ask ur teacher ? xD please
You should take Aileen VH100.

Yes, it's great! Seems like their quality control is very high even for budget instruments. I guess the quality of the budget products of companies tell a lot about them. In the guitar world I think it's like an Ibanez. And the hard part is to find a good teacher:)
