Scott Baio's Take On Life Episode 11 Going to the Doctor

Ойын-сауық

Does anyone like going to the doctor? Scott has maintenance appointments, like an extended warranty on his body. While filmmaker Mark Jones stays away from doctor visits to avoid potential bad news. Producer George Saadi remembers his father doing house calls. How has the doctor/patient relationship changed? Why does a prostate exam need a chaperone? Should we bring house calls back? Tune in to the new episode of Scott Baio’s Take On Life to get these answers, and hear Scott’s cure for scurvy.

Totally agree with Mark. No doctors unless an emergency, natural remedies are wonderful especially for maintenance. I suggested the cherries for my mother in laws arthritis and it has helped. Just remember, there isn’t money is keeping people well but there is plenty of money to be made in treatments (especially when treatments cause you to need other treatments to treat the problem the treatment caused).

I utterly agree with Mark Jones about Alternate Care. And Scott, I am a younger than you, but I have hated medical doctors ever since I was a young kid. The BEST doctor I ever had in my life was a Chiropractor. He was so good as a doctor, and a person, that he became a most blessed family-friend to my family and I. It was like this for us for about 5 years before my family moved out of state back in 2001. It's my only regret to this day, that due to life's fate, we had to leave him and his dear family behind when we moved out of state. Mark Jones, I'll be keeping in mind to what you said about the cherries for arthritis. Thank you.❤

My father was a neurologist, not a brain surgeon, but a neurologist. He was brilliant and died while practicing THE ART OF MEDICINE. He told me for years that medical students are only being taught to become diagnosticians, which is WRONG. Medicine is an art, and the best physicians practice it. He said, Scott, the best doctors work as teams." He had a team, including himself as the neurologist, a chiropractor, a physical therapist, and a massage therapist who worked together to treat their patients. He died on his way to work at 72 in 2014. He also made house calls in the Vail Valley. He had a bag of meds. My mother and her husband in Naples, Fl have had a concierge physicians since 1998. It can actually be less than insurance. You need both, but...it's much. better.

I'd love to listen to feedback on my comments that may agree or contrast with Scott's statements. I think many people are being held hostage to the state in which they reside largely due to health insurance. If I were to leave the State of Iowa, my medications would be restricted because Marijuana is the "cure all" in Florida for chronic pain caused by a genetic connective tissue disease. I don't want to use THC. I have a formula that's worked for 1o yrs, yet if I move, I likely will lose it.

The only doctor I go to is my orthopedic surgeon every 3 months for ex rays to make sure my replacements are OK. I've had bith my hips replaced, and my right knee replaced twice. He is the only dr I trust because he doesn't push drugs .

My Dr made house calls but recently retired. We can get home care here but they usually send a visiting nurse. And it could take a few days to get an appointment. But it’s convenient for seniors & shut ins.

I remember house calls too. The Dr's office was in his house. If you were sick, he'd make a house call. He had his black bag & listened to your heart w his stethoscope. He'd phone in a prescription to the pharmacy & the pharmacy would deliver the medicine by placing it in the mailbox. Those were the days! My resting heart rate is also 48 or 49. I don't go to doctors. It's a waste of time & money. I'd rather take homeopathic remedies on the rare occasion that I get sick.

Stay away from doctors. You know your body & if it’s not broken don’t go looking for tests & problems because they will FIND something. Btw colonoscopies are not necessary, trust me, unless something is wrong w you just stay away. (Ex nurse here)

If you” don’t” go to the Dr ,let’s say 20 yrs ago. Now you feel something is not right. Let’s make up something, say consistent constipation . Now you have to go because you can’t bare the pain. The Dr gives you a colonoscopy and finds cancer, now What? So Dr says had you gone several years ago ,we may have been able to save your life. You should go for a check up and blood work once a year. If something shows, there’s a possibility to save your life.

A colonoscopy saved my life and my husbands...and btw they are now totally painless due to the sedation they give you. It is such a simple procedure now and if they find a polyp they just pull it right out during the process. No Pain. And when you get home you will walk fine just like on your way there. It's such a simple way to prevent colon cancer before it even starts. Seriously think it over.
