@@theflyingninja1 yes, things like charisma is out of one's control. but I think Scott can improve on his acting. I mean he's already a very good onscreen fighter. Hopefully he gets bigger roles.

I think this man should fire his agent because he definitely should be a bigger star than he currently is. He's got everything you would want in a movie star - good work ethic, charisma, actual technical ability, even acting ability as well.

I’m not sure if Scott is leading man material to be honest. Yes, he can act. Yes he’s a great martial artist on screen. He’s very good at what he does and undisputed is some of the best martial arts movies I’ve ever seen. But I’m not sure if he could ever be up there with Keanu Reeves or Jason Statham in terms of Star Power/Leading man material

@@axelstone3131 Yeah. We all love Scott. But it's not because of his range but because he's one of the best if not *thee* best at what he does. And that often makes people feel like because he's just that good that he deserves better. (Which he does) Thing is, Scott hasn't done enough. He has maybe a handful of comedies but they're all "action comedy". Ultimately, 90% of his characters are fighters in some form. Even his "Killa" character - "Wick 4" - was another fighter albeit it did give us a layer of Scott we aren't used to. Aside that he has maybe like 2 or so dramas under his belt but only as a brief supporting role. What will end up happening to him is he gets himself "typecast" the same way as his fellow country person Kate Beckingsale 😍 Thanks to "Underworld" she's having the most difficult time getting back into Hollwood.

@@hugejackedman3447 if you look at what statham does compared to Scott. Statham martial arts on-screen is very snappy/wick kicks to knee’s/hits to throat etc. very Bruce Lee-esq, but Scott’s is very gymnastic high spinning kicks and big telegraphed punches. It looks really cool. But I’m not sure that stuff does well in modern movies anymore. It’s very van damme like. He was in expendables 2 12 years ago and I honestly thought that was going to be his big break but it wasn’t. I don’t think it’s really ever going to happen for Scott unfortunately. He does well with what he makes. Most action fans/martial arts fans know who he is. But other than that he’s just not made a big enough impact. He has no real presence in the Hollywood scene which is a shame. The biggest martial arts star right now is Jason Statham and he’s not going to be replaced any time soon.

@@axelstone3131 Not only that but Statham has a deeper and more proven body of work than Scott. He has done several non-martial arts films including a few action thrillers that had fights but not actually martial arts. He's done drama, comedy, dramedy, romance, sci-fi, horror, and I think he even did a romcom! lol For added context, Michael Jai White has a similar track record to Jason Statham and even he too doesn't get big budget AAA roles, though that's mostly on him. Scott has done only like 3 or 4 of those genres. If there was a "Denzel Washington of the martial arts world" it would be Jason Statham. And Wesley Snipes too lol

@@axelstone3131 And yeah, being so heavy on the acrobatics kinda typecasts him into the stuntwork role. People don't associate that with action movies as much as they do with "martial arts" movies. He even had to tone it down in Expendables 2 to make it a straightforward asskicking contest the way Statham does it. People want him to be Batman. Perfect for him. Scott as Bruce Wayne however.. very different story! lol

I loved both Ninja films. That fight with Kane Kosugi in the second one was so good. I loved Max Cloud. I loved the cheese.

Another good adversary would be the 2 great Indonesian fighters (Mad Dog & his lad) from The Raid movies to battle. Obviously Iko Uwais would be a good fight, another enemy Danny Trejo in a movie (or Art of Action interview!)
