Scotland Road trip 2023 | Isle of Skye in Winter

After missing the open road and the adventure of camping for far too long, we decided to defy the January blues and head north from Glasgow on a road trip to the Isle of Skye. Passing through some of Scotland's most stunning, untouched scenery, such as the Rannoch Moors and the beautiful western lochs.

When we finally made it to Skye the weather decided to turn on us, forcing us to take shelter in the car for the night. This did not stop us the next day, however, when we decided to make the most of the beautiful countryside in Scotland. Touring the best of the Isle of Skye attractions, such as the Fairy Glen and the incredible Quiraing mountain range, we fell in love with this wet and wild place.
To finish the day off with a bang, we decided to brave the hike up to see the beautiful Old Man of Storr. The weather was on our side long enough for us to get within sight of the Storr, however, soon enough the weather turned as expected and we were sent fleeing down the hill.
Come along and see some of Scotland's most spectacular mountain scenery with our Isle of Skye roadtrip.

We have recently completed a great trip on our own from Edinburgh up to Skye with a motorhome. Such a great trip that was driving around the Scottish Highlands through Inverness, Loch Ness, Glenn Coe, Fairy Pools, Staffin... The weather was changing radically indeed, was raining heavily at some point, sunshine 5 minutes later, strong wind that challenged our 4 berth motorhome. Sleeping in a tent is something we only happened to do once to and rather used the motorhome instead... was super windy up in Staffin. The scenery is just beyond poetic, it's such an immerse experience and the surrounding just makes you feel tiny... gosh, I cannot wait to go back again! :')

Nicely done video, you are clearly made of hardy stuff camping in Scotland in January!!! Somewhere worth a visit are the falls of Shin at the right time of year you can film the salmon leaping up them, they are amazing creatures

Haha we had to hide in our car for one of the nights but it was a fun trip! Always guaranteed solitude at this time of year 😂 yeah the falls of shin are beautiful, we visited there a couple of years back when we toured the nc500z. Thanks for watching and commenting and I am glad you enjoyed the video 😁

We are a little expensive because if our mobile jobs but I’d say we spend about £200 on fuel, £60 on gas £200 on food, and then just your Wi-Fi and social costs 😊
