@@taralee1313 Dynamite, He's a woman, she's a man, Blackout, another piece of meat, lovedrive, robot man are heavy metal songs!some of their 1970s ballads like life's like a river, living and dying are metal ballads!Compare Scorpions' sound with purple',s and zepellin , scorpions had already from the 1970s a much more modern, metal sound than them.Rudolf's and Matthias moves on scene also in many songs are clearly metal!

Winds of Change is another slow ballad by them you will love its about the Falling of the Berlin Wall..

The Scorpions are famous for their "power ballads". "Yellow Raven", "Send me an angel", "When the smoke is going down" and their biggest hit "Wind of Change". This song is a very successful power ballad ! But I also like their harder stuff like "Rock me like a hurricane", "Restless Nights" and "Catch your Train". Big stars in Germany ! Yes he is one of the best guitar players, check out burn the sky. One of the best guitar solos I ever heard. So many Rock groups stole stuff and certain sounds from these guys. They are the best top 5 Rock groups of all time, maybe the best

This is written with a crescendo: a calm acoustic opening followed by power chords as Klaus Meine sings in a voice filled with pain. This song charted all over the world, but was especially popular in France.

Check out Hurricane 2000. To my knowledge, it's the first metal band to also have a full on orchestra (I could be wrong). It is worth listening / watching the video.

Scorpions r the longest-running rock band from Germany and built a huge global fanbase on hard rock songs and rock ballads like "Still lovin' you" (This was edited; the full version was slightly longer) one of their biggest hits from 1984 that brought in female fans. Some of the big rock hits by Scorpions include - 'Rock you like a hurricane' ... 'No one like you' ... 'Rhythm of love' ... 'Lovedrive'... 'The Zoo'... 'Wild child'... 🔥🤘🤘 And their hit ballads also include - 'Wind of change' ... 'Holiday' ... 'Send me an angel' ... 'Believe in love' ... 'When the smoke is going down' ... 'Woman'... 🔥🔥 Rudolf Schenker (guitar) originally formed the Scorpions in 1965 as a teenager (he was the singer) in Hanover, (West) Germany... the band played 60's English rock n' roll songs as a 'beat rock' combo inspired by The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, etc... Rudolf also became close friends w/ a local singer Klaus Meine, and even recommended his kid brother Michael Schenker (who was only 14) on lead guitar for Klaus' band Mushrooms... Around 1970, Klaus' band broke up... so, Rudolf invited both Klaus and Michael Schenker to join Scorpions and have Klaus become the lead singer (even if Klaus was very short... he was the best singer in the area) Michael Schenker was inspired by Jimi Hendrix and wrote a bulk of original music w/ English lyrics in the jazz/ blues/ psychedelic style which became Scorpions first album 'Lonesome Crow' in 1972... it was a very different record from what Scorpions became later... In 1973, Scorpions opened for British rock band U.F.O. ... Then, Michael Schenker accepted an offer to join U.F.O. and left the Scorpions, which broke up the band... Michael Schenker became a guitar hero for his 70's records w/ U.F.O. and 80's albums w/ M.S.G. (Michael Schenker Group) Klaus Meine (vocals) and Rudolf Schenker (guitar) decided to reform Scorpions in 1974 w/ new members Ulrich Roth (lead guitar) and Francis Buchholz (bass), recording their 2nd album 'Fly to the Rainbow' ... Ulrich Roth (later Uli Jon Roth) also sang lead on some tracks... a permanent drummer was elusive before Herman Rarebell (drums) joined in 1977... Scorpions released a few albums by then but lacked a proper management or record label to tour outside of Europe... That changed in 1978 when Scorpions were signed to a proper management firm and booked a tour of Japan... Shows from that tour were recorded for a live album 'Tokyo Tapes' in '78, but lead guitarist Ulrich Roth announced that he was leaving the band. Michael Schenker briefly returned to Scorpions to partially record their 'Lovedrive' album (for a new record label) in 1979 but he didn't enjoy touring w/ the band and left soon... Matthias Jabs (lead guitar) was considered to be Ulrich Roth's replacement and he joined Scorpions after Michael Schenker had left a second time... 'Lovedrive' sold gold in the US as Scorpions toured the USA for the first time. Their next album 'Animal magnetism' went platinum in 1980. Scorpions' album 'Blackout' in 1982 was delayed by singer Klaus Meine needed surgery to treat vocal polyps... He recovered and Scorpions had another platinum record... It was followed by their biggest album 'Love at first sting' in 1984 and a live album 'World wide live' in 1985. Their 1988 album 'Savage amusement' was also a platinum success... Another major hit came in 1990 w/ the album 'Crazy world'... Klaus was inspired by the changes to Europe and the end of the Cold War and wrote the hit 'Wind of change'... about the experience of playing Russia for the first time. The 90's brought an abrupt change against 80's rock bands and Scorpions saw their album sales & popularity decline as both Francis Buchholz (bass) and Herman Rarebell (drums) left the band by 1995. Scorpions persisted in the 90's and beyond w/ Ralph Rieckermann (bass) joining in 1993 and James Kottak (drums) in 1997... They recorded a pop-oriented album 'Eye II Eye" in 1999... followed by the album 'Moment of glory' in 2000 recorded w/ a full classical orchestra... and acoustic album 'Acoustica'... Pawel Maciwoda (bass) joined Scorpions in 2004... and the band saw album and concert ticket sales climb back up again by 2010. After considering retirement by 2014, Scorpions experienced a career surge and opted to carry on after 2015... However, drummer James Kottak was fired because of alcohol abuse and was replaced by former Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee in 2016... They were back on tour in 2022 w/ a new album 'Rock believer' 🤘🤘 In early 2024, former drummer James Kottak passed away after years of alcoholism (R.I.P.) Both former Scorpions guitarists Michael Schenker and Uli Jon Roth have also been touring actively.

I really enjoy your reactions. Scorpions is one of my favourite bands. Saw them live, they are amazing and this song is a little gem. @@billtaylor3382 Michael Schenker contributed on Love Drive. Without Michael there may never have been the Scorpions. At 16 Michael wrote and was getting ready to record the Lonesome Crow album. His brothers and buddies ask if they could play on the recording and Michael allowed them but they weren’t even a band yet. Within about a week a band was assembled and the Scorpions were born. Michael was the lead guitarist. It was really his band originally.

I would suggest 'Send Me An Angel' as your next reaction of Scorpions.

This was back in the 80`s and songs like this weren`t played on the radio or shown on TV very often. This was one of the most popular german music TV shows back then and for a rock/metal- band to be there was a really great accomplishment for itself. The Scorpions are still, to this day, one of the most important rock exports of Germany, while they are not even in my top 5 of german rock and metal bands.

Try the same song live at Wakken 2006, a huge gig they headlined with a career retrospective show, they had not only the great guitarists you just saw - Matthias Jabs on most lead guitar and the legendary original band member Rudolf Schenker on 2nd lead/ rhythm guitar - but also brought back original lead guitarist and also legend (and younger brother) Michael Schenker and his successor Uli Jon Roth on scorching lead guitar for their mini sets, then everyone got together for an epic jam later in the show. Any tune from that concert is epic! Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎸🎶

While you are rightly enjoying the Scorpions -- and you have so far to go to hear all their great songs -- you should also check out UFO! UFO is from England, but they had a guitarist named Michael Schenker and Michael is the BROTHER of Rudolph Schenker who plays with the Scorpions! He is the guy with the V-shaped guitar, who played the outtro guitar solo. Both Michael and Rudolph are legendary although i believe Michael might be consider more the "genius" of the two. UFO had Michael with them until October 1978, when he left to start his own band, MSG. Anyway, enjoy your new-found Metal glory-boys, Scorpions!

Another great hard rocking German band besides Rammstein of course .Love there music from there beginning. .Lead vocalist Klaus Mein has a vocal range that is phenomenal. Klaus is 75 years young now! He has been in the Scorpions since 1969.One of my all time favorite songs of there's is Send Me an Angel.

The studio version is longer by about a half minute. I love when someone loves the guitar pieces of this song the way that I do.

OK, The Scorpions are global players and legendary. "Winds of Change" and "Send Me An Angel" are other power ballads. "Rock You Like A Hurricane" is a great hit of them and a great example of a more uptempo song of them, highly recommended. They know how to write songs. And they know how to perform with super tight and with crystal clear arrangements. Many songs of them stick in your ears, once heard. ... Greetings from Germany.

Since you said that your type of metal is anything like Jinjer`s Pisces you definitely need to check out Rule of nines by Spiritbox. Style wise they`re very similar. But still unique enough to be worthy of adding their songs to your playlist!

They are a GREAT ballad band. But they rock too. Try No One Like You. For this song, unfortunately, you got a short version. Missing a bout a minute and a half of a nice finish
