all the Uli's work on Tokyo tapes is killer, first time i heard that i was stunned ....All night long, Pictured, Polar nights, In trance ( the side 1 onTokyo tapes) Uli became my favorite guitar player 5 minutes after i heard that vinyl record ....

Fly to the Rainbow is the best rock album of all times. It is perfect. It is my number one album of all times in rock music.

I could pick any from this era, but mine is In Trance. IN Trance in headphones is one of the greatest heavy rock album with a stratocaster of all time. Basically the absolute bar. But pretty much everything Uli did in that era is greatly underrated. Better than Hendrix, Blackmore or Yngwie imo no contest.

loved so much Fly to the rainbow album but for the work and maturity of Uli i think In trance is better ( matter of taste) , also much harder rock style but They need a million, Far away, Fly people fly and the title song are masterpieces ....

Dear gawd. Pure savagery. My first time hearing/seeing this song live. Mr. Roth, you have no peers. Kudos.

Scorpions should release all these performances on a dvd like what Zeppelin did that time.

Uli was decades ahead of most guitar players and what tone and skills .Another awesome song performed superbly, Rudy Lenners was a great drummer too!

I was 10 years old when I heard the album FLY TO THE RAINBOW for the first time. Since this time my music genre was defined...... An incredible album. I saw and talked to Uli 5 years ago in a small club near my hometown. He ist still an unique guitar player!!!

Saw both in 1977. I was a big fan of all three. But from these old videos Schenker and Blackmore were not doing much of anything like Uli. Blackmore certainly had the swagger and ability to do this, but he was more focused on show. Uli’s guitar play was the show. Unreal seeing these old tapes from 77.
