Thanks for the video! We are adding the swivel only to the passenger seat because I have our ICECO fridge directly behind the driver seat in our configuration . Nice to know we will not have to cut the seat alignment pins. I wondered about that because some YT videos do not show them cutting them off - so I went . . .hmm? We finished our 2018 Transit 250 MR van build a year ago, but still do some tweaking. Our YT van build series (we have 2.5 million views of our channel) is what I describe as in "excruciating detail"! : ) But it was fun and now this 70 & 67 year old couple love doing trips - not van lifers - no interest in that. We kept the alignment pins and don't have any issue with them. Occasionally if you rotate the seat...the plastic skirts on the seat just barely scrub the pins but it's not enough to be concerned about or to remove them. Thanks for watching and be sure to use that link, it really helps us out.

Hello Kevin and Mandy, I want to compliment you on the very nice job on the Scopema swivel seat adaptor install. The job you did was very slick and professional. Looks like you even painted the bracket. WOW, just like I'd do it. Not ANYTHING like some of the hack jobs I've watched. I was wondering if you all have the 10way adjustable seats? Because the Transit I have on order is coming with the 10 way seats and I'm wondering if that is going to be any concern. Also, I was wondering, do you think you could put a thick washer between the seat rail and the Scopema bracket to raise the seat just a little to help it clear the E-Brake plastic cover??? I realize you might have to use a little longer bolt too. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on that. Again, Great Job.

Hello, thanks for the compliments on the install. Very much appreciated. We do not have the 10 way adjustable seats and I have heard that those can be troublesome with swivels but my instinct says it's due to additional wiring and possibly the controls on the seat base. I would take a look when you get them and just use your best judgement if the seats are able to move. Even loosening then from the seat pedestal and spinning them around backwards before spending the money on swivels should give you piece of mind. That should give you an idea of what you may have to modify if the need be. Yes, you could always place a washer or spacer between the swivel and seat tower to raise the height for clearance. Longer bolts are probably not needed unless the washer height is excessive. Thanks again for watching and hope your install goes as smoothly. Nice video. Impressed with air hammer removal of pressed bolts. How did you remove welded nut? i removed handbrake so i could use hachsaw to remove old and drill out a bit for new bolt fit. Was more work due to having to loosen and retighten ebrake cable. Learned alot be doing that. be assured i tested and tested again to make sure i put everything back correctly. but now i know how to fix and adjust it. good knowledge to have. Can you provide link to air hammer please. i have a 2018 Ford Transit 250. Just started on my van this weekend. swivel chairs was first little task. Many more to go. LOL. Cheers from Dallas TX.

Thank you. I've had that air hammer for years and has served me well (nearly 25 yes to be exact). It's a long piston MacTools. For the weled nuts, I just use either a sacrificial bolt threaded in and air hammer that out, or use a small punch on the hammer to knock it loose and off. Many people pull the e brake cable and readjust I just didn't want to mess with that. You made the right choice by starting out with the swivels, they make the area inside the van so nice. Good luck on your build.

Does the seat lock when turned ? Can the seatbelt be used with the seat turned. Thanks, Chuck

The seat does not lock in any position other than forward droving position. On the transit, since the seatbelt is from the B pillar to the seat base, it would not be usable unless in the normal position. We prefer the seats to not lock when spun rearward as they often are on slight angles to have the best fit/comfort

Is there any difference in the drivers side swivel from the passenger side other than the detent position?

Essentially no, they are mirror images of one another.

Hello Kevin and Mandy. Installed the passenger seat in no time. Drivers side is Kickin my A$$ Transit 2018 I have the handbrake lower kit from your store, installed it. But, it seems like the Factory Bolt on the seat (battery) box, where you bolt on the lower bracket that the handbrake cover goes on. The bolts seem to be in the way. Any ideas. Followed this video frame by frame. 👍

If I remember correctly, the lower bolt was in the way and I ended up only utilizing the two. Should be fine, but if you'd like, send a photo of what you're dealing with so I can recall what I did and hopefully help you out.

Confirmed...the lower rear bolt on the bracket which should attach to the e brake assembly was not long enough to be used. If you pm us on Facebook I can share the picture

Took off the Top Rear bolt. Flattened out a few bends, and All is Good. 👍 Fits. Thanks for your video, best one out there.

You didn't really show how you routed the air bag cable under the swivel. That is where I have seen others make some cuts in the battery cover plate. Assuming by your comments that it might not be necessary.

You are correct it isn't necessary, we had seen the same thing and it's a lot of extra work that you do not need to do. As long as you carefully route the wire it should be fine. The passenger side needs to have the wire unclipped from the pedestal.
