Love me some Gobots, only thing letting it down was the terrible inconsistency. They had like 3 different Origin stories

@@earthmanbrick Yeah, my favourite of him was Ray & Slimer in The Real Ghostbusters cartoon. I know he is an extremely talented voice actor and I'm no one but sometimes, his characters are very noticeably him. To be fair to him, he has so many voices, it's only natural that some would sound very similar at times. Not as noticeable as Lorezo Music, though, who's golden buttery voice was the same no matter which character he played, whether it was Garfield, Peter Venkman or one of the Gummie Bears, it was always 100% Lorenzo Music and that was no bad thing.

@@PunksterOS Goes without saying that Peter Cullen as Optimus prime was a class act too. There's so many good voice actors out there. Then there's some really awful & forgettable ones too, or the become infamous

Scooter is an edgy boi, he did indeed. More commonly, it's the 'Roman salute' which was appropriated by fascists like  Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler & the Nazis. The modern association/interpretation of the salute is a negative one & is considered a 'dog whistle' to signify totalitarian power. I think the writers included the gag as a harmless joke, knowing that kids wouldn't understand the deeper meaning behind the reference & the more negative connotations. It was a common thing in the 80s where they'd hide adult humour in innocuous children's shows/movies.

I love this episode.

Classic Scooter line, love the Gobots. Just watching the series for the first time. I saw a few episodes & the movies as a kid but I'm loving how cheesy it all is.

@@earthmanbrick robots and the rocklords was my jam as a kid. I had the silver Porsche. Big head small body. People considered robots the poor mans transformers not realising they were expensive and more durrable.

@@earthmanbrick thanks for the link. Those new robot designs look more inline with transformers. Looking back at gobots, they had very futuristic vehicle designs. I heard that gobots was snached by Hasbro. Not 100% sure.

@@Spekd You heard correctly, Hasbro still own the licence to this day. There's a rich history to it all & I think a few retro/toy channels have done a good job of covering it. I personally find it to be a bit of a black hole. I always end up looking at one toy or another then, before I know it, I've lost 3 hours to looking at all the various models. It's great fun

Learm History. Stop Canceling it. You'd know that was a Roman Empire salute.
