we're back on Killzone?....huh. I didn't think you people would come back in this franchise [Flower] after those two Helghan videos. if it were so to keep coming back here like with Scolar here, then do the Vektan-ISA or VSA next. the Earth-UCN/UCA is a bit hard to do maybe since there is only little Lore on them with most of the in-Game events of the Killzone [Flower] takes place in the Alpha Centauri groups of system, but with the wiki says that the Human territories beyond Killzone Sol System is even more wider if looked into it deeply.

I mean being banished to an inhospitable wasteland that killed millions of your people tends to warrant hostility. I really do wish the Kill Zone series had pointed out more that the Helghan Administration legally bought Alpha Centari and that Earth (and more broadly the ISA) were the ones who ramped up aggression and hostility FIRST

To think the Helghast gets to be the sympathetic cool 'bad' guys in the Killzone series all to Scolar Visari. Hell, remembering his speech in the intro of Killzone 1 & 2 will always be memorable.

I feel that it's really hard. The series did fine but it was never the incredible success that sony wanted (this should have been the PS Halo) and now the team is working on the Horizon series. It's possible that we may get another game in the future but it's really unlikely.

When you create a villain so good that the wider community loves him more than "good guys".

I loved KZ 1 & 2 for being logically consistent and being grounded in realism, KZ 3 was a bit over the top (Stahl was talking about launching "the greatest invasion in our history" just some time after failed invasion of Vecta, it doesn't make any sense, but it sounds "cool"), but then KZ: Shadow Fall was totally ridiculous. Only a handful of Helghasts survived, they didn't need half of an entire planet lol.

@Ethan Magor I’d never go so far to say that, plenty lore have made it abundantly clear of the evils they’ve wrought. But i think the thing that draws people into the Helghast is how sympathetic they are. Getting kicked off the world you called home and forced to live on a hell hole with near toxic air, terrible weather, and dangerous fauna is a pretty raw deal that I’m sure most would take issue with. It’s very easy to frame them as victims just trying to take back their home. Of course we see it’s not that simple and in their efforts the Helghast are now arguably just bad if not worse then the people who drove them out. I like that as it shows just how warped good intentions can be twisted war, hate and despots out to accumulate power. The Helghast may not be heroes but they are certainly interesting and pitiable antagonists.

Helghan...... belongs to the Helghast.

For the longest time I thought Scolar was his title and not his name

I do wish that they make another Killzone game as it has a lot of potential Plus it's multiplayer was really good and balanced from what I remember.

Yknow, I wonder why he had so many reinforcements standing by that only arrived after he died. It gives me the impression that he had intended to surrender the entire time but needed to put up a fight so he wouldn't be seen as weak by his people. And since Helghast had a massive military that could reap havoc if it just went wild, he could leverage his position as the only one who could keep the Helghans from just pillaging anything they could on other worlds to remain in power. That's kind of the impression I get from that scene.

The ships were just getting back from evacuating the civilians out of the city that's why u don't see any. What I think is he knew that the ISA were going to get him and use him to control the helghast regime or something like that. That is something he would not allow so he goled them into killing him so his people would keep fighting and stay strong. I mean come it's really obvious he new Rico was going to shoot him it's even likely he read his file and knew how much he hated( Those damn higs) that's why he said all those things and got so close he knew what Rico would do. Hell any one who knows Rico knew he would shoot Visari it was only a matter of time

@@sonragnarokred9856 Ok I feel like there's a lot wrong with what you said there, biggest among them being, where would Visari even get Rico, or any ISA soldiers files from? That isn't something he would exactly have easy access to, and even if he did, it's unlikely he would browse through every soldiers file. Top ranking officers maybe, but that's something he would likely rather have his generals briefed on. And even then, this plan only works if he somehow managed to get the word out that every ISA soldier Except Rico is fair game, so they have to pretend to only be trying to kill him, in the middle of a warzone, and then Rico has to survive the capital getting nuked, AND THEN manage to breach Visaris defenses, including Colonel Radek to get into a room alone with him. Realistically it would have been easier for him to just off himself with an ISA soldier or two inside. There was only 3 witnesses in the game to his death, and the Helghast don't seem like they'd have a free and open press so the Hierarchy could easily say that he was killed by the ISA and most Helghast citizens would probably still believe it.

Ok first off of course he knows Rico he's one of the four responsible for their defeat in the first game. Each one most likely on Visari shit list. Of course his main plan was to be taken prisoner if it benefited both him and Helgen in the long run. He most likely decided to martyr himself when he saw it would be more beneficial for the helghast if died " defending the Helghast dream". That's probably why Radic was sent to fight them. Both out comes is a win win. If Radic kills them it proves their strength and rallys the people but if they kill Radic he golls them into killing him which makes him a martyr to rally behind and his people will unleash bloody vengeance on the ISA. In both out comes the ISA will burn

Also about him offing himself it's not his style he likes to put on show and I don't doubt he had a hidden camera somewhere recording everything. Let's be honest showing the ISA gun down the father of your nation works wonders to get the masses wanting blood and vengeance.

Yes he was heavily defended that's why him getting shot by the ISA was the back up plan incase they got through. Also am so glad that the killzone fanbase isn't dead they really should make another game

This really was an underrated series, killzone 2 was my favorite of the games but the worldbuilding of the franchise as a whole was really good. I mean it wasn't anything on the scale of things like Mass Effect, Halo or Star Wars but I think that kinda works in its favor, the first 2 games had a grim and dark tone to them that was very well done.

Visari's death reminds me of Konrad Curze, another misunderstood heroe of the galaxy who never wanted anything else but justice and peace. Ave dominus nox.

Sad part is.....it doesn't look like we'll get a Killzonw game :(

Killing Visari was such a bad move. He was the heart of the franchise. Without him it just wasn't the same.

I hope we at least get a well designed remaster down the line. This was an amazing experience of a world long live killzone empire

This music is just so powerful. Listening to it makes me feel like an Emperor. I feel like the God Emperor of humanity and and Imperium of Man in Warhammer 40000.

I'm so glad people still talk about this series. Games might be a bit wonky but the setting and theme is amazing

They could of took some kind of medicine to resist the effects of the planet or simply its only long term exposure that's harmful.

I wonder why they never made a new Killzone game after Shadow Fall. IIRC that game was successful and well regarded.

It's because Horizon Zero Dawn sold 20 million copies, while Shadow Fall only sold 2.1 million. While I hope for a new installment in the Killzone franchise, I somewhat doubt it. Money is a big factor, especially since Guerrilla Games is practically owned by Sony.

A brutal tyrant he may be but he was created by the ISA. The measures they took against the helghan was based off of greed, and the punishment they handed out was far harsher than necessary. They got what they deserved in Scolar, the beast they unleashed.

Hera & Scolar Visari’s family relationship should’ve been explored a bit more. I heard that, at times, Hera was repulsed by the presence of her father. But in this video, it’s stated that Hera sees Scolar as an eternally loving father; not just to his people, but to her, as his daughter.

The Story was Good And sad i look at him as an true Hero Trying to Fight for what he Deemed is Right. then at the ending i look at him as an Monster an Dictator an Merciful Man fighting for what he thinks is the best way to do.

Is it just me or the narrator voice sounds like Salarian Race voice from Mass Effect Series, if you sped up the video playback by 1.25.

Usually it's a meme but in this case...the Helghast did nothing wrong. They committed some war crimes but they are always the one that get kicked way worse.
