of course, scissor lifts have almost no power at the bottom,it is a matter of leverages, one just needs some basic engineering concepts to easily understand it please notice how difficult is is to raise the car to change a flat tire,at first, but then at the top it is so easy, lots of cars use scissor car jacks.

Ok as people will tell you and you also clearly now know, the bottom of the lift is tough. This is because there is only friction in the thread. Even though each thread is a small incline, it’s not sufficient. What if your thread was much much larger? The incline would be greater and up to a point, the lower part would be easier. But still the torque would also increase making turning harder. Right now the pieces of the scissor are each the same in terms of the pivot points being exactly opposite each other so as you turn the handle the opposite pivot points pivot but also oppose each other. That is because the scissor members are parallel or nearly so. What if, what if the pivot points do not directly oppose each other? What if at least some of the pairs are wider and are not drilled on center but are drilled so as not to be in direct opposition? This would be providing you with an additional advantage at the outset. There are other facets to this idea which may include the addition of another form of assist. Also with these additional thoughts. Why not put the screw at some other point. Perhaps an end is not optimal? In short- create more mechanical advantage at the outset. Even the traverse block can be your friend.🙏 God bless and don’t give up!
