Scientific Leadership | Julius Uy | TEDxPSBAcademy

Whether a student or working adult, most of us have had the chance to take on a leadership position. However, how many of us have considered the science behind effective leadership? Or how these factors can hinder or improve productivity among ourselves and our peers? As leaders are required to make important decisions, it is important to recognise the subconscious factors that affect our perceptions of people, causing unintentional biases during a decision-making process. What are these factors and how can we recognize them? What might cause the efficacy of leadership to be hindered? How can we increase productivity among ourselves and our peers? Julius is the Chief Technology Officer at ZilLearn where currently leads the Product, Design, and Engineering team. He previously worked in various leadership roles in the Tech Industry involving projects featured in Google I/O, WWDC, Android Developer Story, and Android
Excellence. Outside of work, he mentors engineering leaders from companies like Google, Meta, and Amazon across Silicon Valley, India, Canada, Hong Kong, and Singapore. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
