Science Finds the 'Mind of God'-Atheists Can't Explain This!

This video might just be an atheist's worst nightmare. Scientists have uncovered what seems like the mind of God, and the evidence presented is almost undeniable. You're about to witness how the invisible intertwines with the visible. The concept of "as above, so below" will gain profound clarity after watching this. All I ask is for your patience and to stay with us until the end, as everything will gradually come together and make complete sense. However, I must warn you: this video may transform you into a believer in God, so if you're not open to changing your beliefs, you might want to stop watching now (just kidding!). Let's get started!

It is not the god in the Bible that ancient man made up . There is a higher power way different than you might think. You can learn about this higher power by studying the scientific facts about the structure and origin of the universe and especially quantum mechanics. The skeptic in me says: These are just a bunch of patterns with a similar shape. Similar to how the fibonnaci sequence relates to the golden ratio, but if you take a closer look it doesn't quite add up in our physical world. I'd argue there is imperfection in our world, it just looks similar enough for us to make comparisons. Humans are pretty good in finding patterns, but many times because of a certain bias, e.g. the face on Mars, which only makes sense for us because that is our strong bias seeing faces in things. Isn't it just logical to find patterns in an equation that kind of match other patterns in our world? Math is a language in which some things literally don't add up. For instance, if we devide 1 by 3, we get 0.33‾. If we multiply it by 3 we get 0.99‾, which we can all agree on is not the same value we started with. We have to use another way of writing it altogether for it to add up again (like 1/3 * 3). We found some more or less interesting (but as of now useless) patterns, that's cool. Can we draw better conclusions than "it's the mind of god" and not go full hyperbole? I like the topic, but I dislike how easy the "it must be god" thing is being pulled. Just my 2 cents.

I'll try. They aren't looking at the idea of the Mandelbrot set as being a representation of God itself. But by finding this information that exists in the world of math beyond both of our understanding, you see the picture God painted for you to find, knowing only God could have painted it, therefore proving the existence of God within the abstract. Your minds ability to conceptualize these ideas is what it means to be made in the image of God. An animal couldn't read this in the first place. What is it that puts our understanding above an animal, when we limit test reality, we usually find depictions of God at the end of the information we collect.

  • @lenni-hazels

@@Mark-td1ne Agree to disagree. For once recognizing patterns is not unique to humans. Just because we are a bit better to learn and apply more abstract thinking doesn't mean we have to draw the conclusion it must have been put there by god for us to find it (like some kind of paper chase). This is typical self-centric and foolish thinking in my mind. You (or anyone else) seeing a proof of god in this has more to do with yourself than with the actual nature out there. Math is a human-made tool. Doesn't mean it is free from the laws or aspects of nature. I guess if you replaced the word god with nature altogether it would make more sense to me. But thanks for the reply anyway.

How audacious, @aexurml4314! Polarities, far from being suggestive of darkness or demonic influence, are intricately woven into the fabric of creation by the divine hand. They stand as complementary forces, each implying the other's existence. Indeed, there can be no north without south, no light without shadow. Such polarity is not a flaw but rather a reflection of the divine craftsmanship. Your assertion regarding identification with the Creator resonates deeply with Christian theology. It is not heresy but rather a sacred calling, echoing the very essence of Christ's teachings. Recall the words of Jesus, who beckoned us to take up our crosses and follow him, humbling himself even to the point of taking on the form of a servant (Philippians 2:6-7). In doing so, we do not stray from our path but rather align ourselves with the divine purpose woven into the very fiber of our being. Consider the profound truth that we are made in the image of God, a reflection of His divine likeness. The distinction between our individuality and His divine essence blurs in the light of this revelation. Indeed, to fully embrace our humanity is to embrace our inherent connection to the Creator. Yet, it is crucial to acknowledge the limitations of our earthly existence. While we may strive to emulate the divine, we cannot fully grasp God in all His glory while confined to mortal form (1 Corinthians 13:12). Nonetheless, the longing for union with the divine remains a central theme in Christian theology. As St. Athanasius eloquently proclaimed, "For the Son of God became man so that we might become God." This profound statement encapsulates the essence of Christian theology - the invitation to partake in the divine nature, to journey towards union with the Creator. When you proclaim we are not the same, I will grant to you that at the moment we are incarnated. But to earnestly say there can be no identification with the divine is to commit to the same folly as those who made sure Jesus be crucified for heresy. You are, by implying that, nailing the man to cross. In the end, our pursuit of identification with the Creator is not an act of arrogance but rather a testament to our faith and our deepest yearning for communion with the divine. It is a journey of transformation, guided by the love and grace of our Heavenly Father.@@aexurml4314

Thankfully, we are pulled along by the smartest people that help us advance, teach and pass on their proven wisdom to anyone that care choose to learn it. Thankfully we have invented something within mathematics called a 'proof'; a replicable, logical argument that locks in a new truth and cannot be disagreed with. Sadly, it only works with mathematical framework - the problem with any other non-mathematical argument is that it uses words, which are interpretable, semantic and require abstract thinking to understand... thereby losing most people along the way to only thinking that they are right.

We continue to use mathematics where it remains relevant, but the universe does not rely on these rules, the rules describe the universe. The discovery of a wrinkle in mathematics that first revealed "imaginary numbers" was disruptive BECAUSE it called into question the ability of mathematics to accurately describe the universe. Why does the universe obey math: because math is what we figured out is the easiest way to quantify how the universe is built, and how to communicate that with symbols. This isn't genius territory, Billy Ray Universe didn't walk up and see a text book and think "OH Duuuh! MATH!" and reorganize itself. It's what we're using to describe the universe, so it would be messed up if the universe *didn't follow those organizing principles. Chaos doesn't persist in perpetuity, only until the easiest pattern is fallen into and the outliers from the pattern are destroyed or join it. Sort of like how crystals are formed. That's why there are certain patterns which repeat consistently: the best way to do a thing is what survives.

That representation is our brain cells and they are transformed by the input of reality through our sensors. It’s no different than translating a language and using shapes to represent the differences and using similarities in shape to show closeness or some sort of relation. Our eyes have cones and rods so the cone, i think, has the chemical and when a piece of the light hits it the light makes the chemical release and cause change in the nervous system. The light isn’t fully absorbed but a different left behind and connected kinda like food. A portion. That portion changes the neurons and they share the differences between to reflect the image through chemicals and electric signals. It’s a system itself but connected to the whole. As we integrate the differences they reflect in the system not fully there. The differences caused by reflection can cause the whole system to reflect or us as a system to reflect the image through motion and move to get out of the rain. @@ilovebutterstuffYou don't get it, nor is anything about your "Skepticism" healthy! Nothing this video claims has any scientific clout at all! Mysteries do exist, but since when does making up absurd things based on false attribution, proclaiming it's true, and then trying to back it up with more unsubstantiated absurd claims a means to knowledge of any kind? Skepticism is not about challenging things because you don't understand them, or because they don't fit your belief, but trying ones best to know more true things and believe in fewer untrue things! Science would never make such an absurd claim, and even if Dr. Mandelbrot did claim "It's the mind of god" science is not based on authority, and no scientist will just accept it just because he said it! That's not at all how science works, and once you learn how many people, experiments, fact checking and all there is before anything passes peer review and so well supported that other scientists will use it in their work here relevant, and cite it. Einsteins laws have been cited millions of times, multiple discoveries made, and even shown usable to the point we have a much better picture of the universe because of everything it predicted, whereas this video misquotes Dr. Mandelbrot and other scientists, misinterprets many science findings, and uses a single "Authority" one Dr. Jason Lisle; an astrophysicist who's only legitimate work is concerning convection cells in the sun... and that only, since then he has mainly focused on shilling for "Answers in Genesis", "the Institute for Creation Research", and is the Founder of "the Biblical Science Institute", which are all three fundamentalist christian apologetics indoctrination mills, that hire unsuccessful barely published if at all other then self published books they wrote (so not officially published in respected and accredited scientific journals) and yet are still peer reviewed by scientists only to show just how freaking wrong they are, how their methods are not accepted as viable scientific methods and how they even violate science ethics for making unsubstantiated claims! So off the record, since no actual research for any of it is on the record! These Christian scientists"; real scientists are just scientists (there are no factions), do no real experiments, don't even have well equipped suitable labs, nor ever done any viable or useful research studies, and do science all freaking backwards! They claim a god exists, and based on that "Knowledge" (it's mere belief) they set out to "Prove it", but not by showing actual evidence the scientific community can investigate and see if it's useful..., but by trying to defame real scientists, twist known science to fit their agenda, call whole branches of science wrong, especially the most solid scientific theory of them all Evolution, false, and it's the one theory with the the most freaking science facts, works within the laws of physics, is corroborated by several fields with even more evidence... so just undermining science as if that proves anything other than they truly are frauds! IOW: Real and honest scientists review their books to call them out for the complete frauds they are, and to point out their one real agenda: To gaslight and fool enough gullible people to believe their shit, mainly those who already believe in god looking to confirm their bias toward an already held belief, who they can fleece to make a lot of money off of! All of them are about as full of shit as it gets and just a bunch of cons! The fact that you wrote "I've known this for a good part of 20 years", just shows that you are not at all a skeptic, but one of the gullible who drank the Koolaid, who anyone with a good story that confirms that which you already and want to believe for whatever comfort or pride it gives you (truth be damned), can manipulate you like a puppet! So, since this video has no other citations than the well debunked, known fraudster Dr. Lisle a self proclaimed "Christian scientist" (so christian first and foremost), and instead of just presenting the science, appeals to fools emotions and bias to have a way to take down Atheists, which does not equal scientist, nor have jack shit to do with science in the first place (An atheist is just one who doesn't believe in gods, for any or no reason, nothing more), and using that strawman argument to attack the strawman, rather than what the science really says! So you can either just believe that shit and keep feeding your conformation bias, or educate yourself on the actual science not in the christian context, but the way scientists all over the world (so not ~100 fringe outcasts, but millions), who do actual investigation and discovery, provide sufficient evidence and can demonstrate how shit really works, and in many ways, like how it is being used in practice, none mere belief or claim based! At minimum as one who claims to have healthy skepticism, you can and should have already seen any one of many red flags in this video, starting with the whole philosophical approach which is packed with every freaking logical fallacy in the book, and looked into the truth of it, which you obviously have not done yet! So you have two paths of inquiry: 1. The 100% christian god belief biased rhetorical dogma side for which you will get lot's of hits to his lectures and what not, all in fundi christian institutions (so again not the ones who separate their religion from the sciences, but the ones trying to replace science with their already held belief), or 2. The Dr. Lisle as just a scientist, to which you will find very little of anything other than Atheists, scientists, and even other christians countering his bullshit, and showing where he is scientifically wrong, and philosophically brain dead for the most part! You can start with reading what many others have to say about him: Secular (unbiased): rationalwikiDOTorg/wiki/Jason_Lisle discovermagazineDOTcom/the-sciences/another-passel-of-creationist-lies Heres a few christian sources: freethinkingministriesDOTcom/an-evidentialist-review-of-jason-lisles-the-ultimate-proof-of-creation/ biologosDOTorg/articles/light-matters-a-response-to-jason-lisle And then you can have days of reading and viewing, just pop this in a search: Criticism of and debunking Dr. jason lisle Do that, and get back to me.

The further you iterate, the more complexity you get. It's just us, adding layers over and over, until Nature eventually makes new properties emerge. You can render the set with just one iteration, and you get a circle. Not very interesting. That's why I love Nature and the Universe. It's like, dumb and intelligent, at the same time. Evolution is just another way Nature works and creates new things. The Universe itself is the only real god to me.☺

An atheist's worst nightmare, huh? Oh, _this_ should be fun. Should I start laughing _now?_ _"What if there was a message inside numbers? What would that imply?"_ I suppose it depends on the message. Are you going to tell us? _"It would tell us something about the intelligence of the person who made numbers."_ Maybe? I doubt if any one single person "made numbers," though. It was likely lots and lots of us, wasn't it? But again, let's hear the message. _"As a matter of fact, there is a secret code built into numbers"_ *Evidence?* So far, all I'm hearing are vague claims. _"the Mandelbrot set includes not only real numbers, but also complex and imaginary numbers"_ OK. So what? _"The Mandelbrot set provides a window into understanding infinity, hinting at the vastness of God's mind"_ *What?* What does a god have to do with _any_ of this? Heck, how do your pretty pictures even help you in "understanding infinity"? You made a huge leap there, followed by an even _bigger_ leap. _"The concept of the Mandelbrot set suggests a mind that is truly infinite, capable of infinite complexity and thought"_ No, it doesn't. How in the world can you imagine _that?_ So far, nothing you've demonstrated suggests a mind _at all,_ unless you mean the human minds who are imagining this stuff. _"a glimpse into the mind of God"_ Nope. More like a glimpse into the mind of the faith-based. _"a reflection of the mind of God"_ *Evidence?* Just *one* piece of good evidence, specific enough and in enough detail that I can judge it for myself? This seems to be all about "Look at the pretty pictures. Must be the god I was taught to believe as a baby." Maybe this isn't the absolute _worst_ argument I've ever heard from theists, because I've heard some very silly stuff, but it's far from good.

The huge drawback of this video is that the presenters assume that the God of Christianity is the only God. There are religions that reject the God of the Bible, the God of Jews, and the God of Christians. Other religions see God in a different light. They accept that God created mathematics and all sciences, but not necessarily the God of a particular religion. Deists for instance accept Nature's God while at the same time rejecting the God of all revealed religions.

My thought on this is, all other gods from all other religions are not alive. They did not die and come back to life after 3 days. Science has proven 2000 of the 2500 prophesies from the Bible. "Other gods" who would be deemed conceptual could not have orchestrated the things on this planet that are so intricate, so perfect, and so beautiful. The God of the Bible, the one who is the creator of all things, including you and I, is the only one who could have created such a perfect existence for human kind. There has to be a creator for there to be a creation. The foods that God created is not just food, but also medicine to heal us. Science has proven over and over again that certain foods affect certain parts of our bodies. How can a made up fictional god do any of that? It's not possible, that god would be considered conceptual.

Religion is present because of man's need for a governing body that is not imposed but intended to be allowed to be chosen by the individual for the most part. For all practical purposes it is in place as a means of structure and control with the intention of serving as a moral guide to the people, a common grounds established for people with similar beliefs to gather and be in fellowship with those of compatible faith, and means of accountability and penance for those that are in need of spiritual healing.... Religions soul purpose should be ass means to beat reflection of what is good and righteous, promoting love and kindness, for the well-being of all of creation, not for control or financial gain or a elaborate cover up for evil guided intentions and actions that inflict harm or distress on any person, those are the abominations that have caused all religions to have a bad name and fall short of representing God and undermine the entire concept of religion. How does nobody see that the idea of religion has been tainted thru the misuse of authority and abuse of power is the problem with all religions and why none of them really fully honor any higher power. The leaders and members of each fail to achieve a proper representation of the purpose of any religion as they attempt to claim the authority they hold as a position endorsed by the 'god' they choose to worship, failing to set and live by the only real rule there needs to be (if you don't know what that is you are also mislead... It's about how to love: God, yourself, and all others; equally.) Anything against that is clearly not any humans purpose on this earth. Harm none, but do all the good you can in all the ways you can in all the times you can, if we all held that as a standard everyone would prosper and be safe and truly free. The controling organizations that are in place misguiding the masses is all that is creating separation between various religions, ideas of hate, and the completely unnecessary need for control\money\war aka greed\fear and "power" making all that effort completely self serving and contradictory to any idea of love or humanity, preventing all religions from ever actually being righteous or truly serving the Lord.

I'm more a man of words than one of numbers, but I can certainly see the intricate complex beauty of the Mandelbrot Set. But in all honesty it was a mathematician called Julian who first wrote his paper in 1917, which he called the 'Julian Set', & patterns visible within the natural world, who first bought this idea to academic attention, its the earliest record I'm aware of. It was the invention of the main frame computers in the 1970's that were able to display, impressive geometric patterns which could be recreated on the screen. A real translation of the equation should look like this: addition+multiplicationxmillionxmillion shows its complexity. What spoils this video is the need to turn this into a man on the street shouting out the importance for all of us to be saved by god, when all I wanted was to buy a fractal t-shirt. People who watched this video also bought the "fractal merch". I don't make mon£y for mentioning the "merch".

This video simply takes the idea of "nature" and demands that a supernatural mind must have created it. It is completely ridiculous to think that nature requires a supernatural origin. The reason mathematics is inherent in nature is because we have developed mathematics to try to explore nature. Nature does not follow the laws of mathematics. Mathematics follows the observations of what we see in nature. When we discover new properties in nature, we alter mathematics and create new mathematics to help us to understand those new discoveries. Nature is nature and nothing more or less. We don't need supernatural dogma to help us understand it, we just need to use our minds to model new ways of thinking about it. When we cloud our understanding of nature with supernatural and superstitious ideas we get unreliable story-telling religion. When we base our understanding on measurable, repeatable, learnable -- and changeable -- as we will no doubt always be changing how much we know about nature -- then we have a scientific process that is reliable. Saying that naturalists will never understand nature because we don't believe that nature has a mind, like we do, like god ostensibly does, is just pure egocentrism. Nature doesn't need a mind, because nobody created nature from their mind. It simply is, because it is. It doesn't need to be conflated with psuedo-historical ethnic folklore like "jesus" or "krishna" or "thor" to be suitably profound. It's just nature, and nature is naturally profound. No superstition needed.

Math is a representation of the physical world internalized conceptually, according to experience of the real world. The number, "3", for instance, developed organically from our experience of the physical world. Math as a rules-based system developed from such fundamental beginnings. "Fractals" are a product of mathematical processes, specifically, "recursion", where the result of one calculation is used in a later iteration of the same calculation--the equation will "feed" itself forever, if the result is not mathematically "illegal". This is the entire "mystery" of the infinity of the Mandelbrot set. It goes on forever because it is mathematically designed to do so! It may be a suggestive way to imagine "the mind of God", in someone's conception, but it IS NOT, itself, the mind of God.

God does exist, just because you cannot see God doesn't mean He doesn't exist. That's a logical fallacy. Your thinking is, I don't know something and I can't see it, therefore it doesn't exist. That kind of reasoning is not only flawed, it is ignorant. As there is clearly, even through science an abundance of things you cannot see that do exist.

@@lightoflife-ministries Again you have a child’s understanding of how to think logically and you are trying to change what I said so that you can show how my thinking is incorrect. That’s very dishonest of you. I never said “I can’t see it therefore it isn’t real” I’ve never been up to space to view the planet but I believe it is spherical because many people have gone and developed REPEATABLE tests that I can also go do. I do not start with the assumption that the earth is a sphere, I look at the data and follow it to its conclusion that any other shape wouldn’t make sense. You cannot do this with God. Our current world model works perfectly fine without the need of any sort of divine individual. I was merely pointing out that in order for this video to make any sort of sense you would first have to assume that God exists, (which we have quite literally zero evidence of) and then you would have to do the mental gymnastics to use fractals as evidence of God. So what if they’re infinite? How does that provide evidence that God exists? What is so divine about that? You know what else is infinite in this context? Graphing an infinite straight line. But he doesn’t use that in this video because it doesn’t look like there’s fancy designs or magic to it.

A long time ago, people didn’t know what energy, force or gravity was. You can’t see energy & can’t you see force or gravity but you know it exist because it is a natural phenomenon in our world. Now, to imagine God, you would have to consider that the being God is everything that consist of anything, meaning energy, force and gravity but even more, since God would be the source of all there was. You can’t see God because God is not something to SEE, God would be energy in its purest form so to say that there is no proof that God exist is ignorant because you can’t see energy with your physical eye but you know it exist. How do you know there are other planets? Did you physically see them with your eyes or were you TAUGHT that they were other planets? Exactly.

The difference between God and your force of gravity argument is that: 1. Actually, Yes we can observe gravity and energy. We do every time we drop our keys on the ground or see lightning in the sky. And 2. These types of things do not require a god to exist. I'm christian but this video is wrong. The argument here is that the mandelbrot set is part of math and is infinitly detailed and only a mind of infinite capacity could do something infinitly detailed and math is something that was always present and made with the universe and therefore what created the universe has infinite cognitive capacity therefore the thing that created the universe = God. The problem here is that the maldelbrot set *wasn't* created, it doesn't exist as something physical or mental or anything else, it doesn't exist. Shortly, if you defining math as something that was always present, mathematical infinities don't exist because nothing in the universe can be truly infinite.

Believers ask me all the time: What would it take to convince you my god exists? I tell them they don’t need to know what it would take. Nor do I, for that matter. Assuming their deity is all-knowing, then the deity himself already knows exactly what it would take to convince me. Therefore we don’t need to worry about that detail. Moreover, assuming this deity is all-powerful, then there is nothing preventing him from doing so. And, further assuming this is a “loving“ deity who compassionately wants what is best for all of us, then he has every motivation to do so. So far I have not been visited by any such deity. While that fact does not disprove the existence of any god, it does show a glaring inconsistency in what we are being asked to believe

This video proves that God is math as much as it proves that math is God. Additionally, you can't equivocate natural and mental mathematics. The mental representation we have of math is a representation, not the same thing. People get tripped up over this all the time. Just because you can imagine something doesn't mean your imagination of it = the physics of it. Very different things. Your imagination is guaranteed formatted in a completely different way in your mind than the physical world would format the same things. People tend to be very confused that the mind can grasp elements of reality. I don't see that as odd or confusing at all. Your mind is a literal extension of the universe around it. It plays by the same rules. There's nothing saying that the mind is a separate universe from reality, all things flow together. The physical universe obeys mathematical laws because we made math to explain the physical universe. It's not a stumper. So really there are many holes of logic in this video, it doesn't actually explain anything.
