No matter what the setting, or where in the future it's supposed to be, getting away from the abuser is always the right thing to do. The odd/even selection aspect of the story was almost a sort of backdrop for the more pressing issue of the toxic relationship. The film itself had a, well, unique style, fashion statement. Kudos to the AI trash can.

Odd / Even strategies have been tried in the past, rarely with success. The government of Athens, Greece, tried to reduce the number of private cars congesting and polluting the city’s streets, by having cars with odd and even numbered registration plates only allowed on different days. The result was many bought another car with a different registration number, thus increasing the number of cars in the city looking for parking places.

Wasn't odd/even number plates implemented during the gas shortage. And I think there were odd/even number houses for watering grass in some states. Some other types of restrictions were made on odd/even days of the month.

Relationships like these are hard to see for what they are from the inside. He was controlling and supportive. Interesting concept for a movie. It’s too bad she had to separate from him in this way instead just setting boundaries. However this is a reality for some people in relationships like this. Thanks for sharing the movie I enjoyed it!

"He was controlling and supportive" supportive because he wants his property to be the best. "instead just setting boundaries" when he monitors all interactions 1:58 gave her a bugged device and got her to promise to never take it off, 4:33 , even assuming they happened in that order Maybe she gave him another chance, not going ahead with the transfer. Perhaps blocked the bug when she bailed or he wasn't monitoring but anyway he turned up 11:39 and already changed year. Yeah, okay..the boundary becomes 'see you never'. Every single day And every word you say Every game you play Every night you stay I'll be watching you Oh, can't you see You belong to me? How my poor heart aches With every step you take? I liked it, lots of holes but no problem for a short. A bit strange not allowing the change to be reversible. Ohh that is suspicious. Without population control taking out half the population would only move the problem back a few decades. Little difference whether the odd/even were actually on ice or Thana-tossed, but if the odds and evens are further divided/extended by keeping on ice to 1 in 10, 1 in 100.

I'd be okay with a monthly odd/even system. The Odds are "alive" on Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, and Nov and the Evens on Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, and Dec. They'd have to modify holiday celebrations, anniversaries and birthdays, but at least they don't feel like they are losing years of their lives. As a trucker, I'm planning to do that anyway: be on the road non-stop for 30 days and take 30 days off.

I think an odd even system would have been much better than the 'sorry, but you all have to die' that's being implemented. Especially since the planet is not over populated and the only food, water and resource shortages, just like the worsening air quality and environmental pollution is all being created or funded by governments and private industry. Yes, it is a sad fact, one we should have been allowed to at least have a representative present to discuss alternative options.

Gorgeous! But please remember, trust is a choice. If you choose to trust someone, it makes you vulnerable to them, but it saves the relationship. If you are not willing to fanatically trust someone, your jealousy will keep them away from you and the relationship is not possible. It's a choice to ignore the "signs" and wait for explanations without actively search/ask for them. Some signs are fake/misunderstanings, some are true and the person you trusted really had the opportunity to betray you and chose not to. And some are true. But if you believe all are true, you already lost, this relationship is dead even before you even been betrayed. Choose wisely, people. Trust is a choice and more often than not even opening yourself to someone is not an internal need, but a choice. Choose and don't be amazed when your choices act upon your life. That's why you made them.
