Even better is getting the abuser away, and you staying in your previous life :) That's what she cleverly managed to do, she cunningly gave him a piece of his own cake...

I like this film, it hit on TWO LEVELS. First the actors sold the story line of the bad relationship, and second the odd/even Sci-Fi back drop was incredibly clever.

Lol I really liked that trash can. And yeah this was a fantastic video. I would be all kinds of annoyed if I was an even and when I woke up in 2030 I found out the odds had decided to start WW3 the day before New Years.

That's the problem with the scenario that no one thinks of. One group of "wakers" can really mess things up, leaving it to the other group(s) to deal with.
Absolutely loved everything about this short film for so many reasons.
No matter what the setting, or where in the future it's supposed to be, getting away from the abuser is always the right thing to do. The odd/even selection aspect of the story was almost a sort of backdrop for the more pressing issue of the toxic relationship. The film itself had a, well, unique style, fashion statement. Kudos to the AI trash can.
Odd / Even strategies have been tried in the past, rarely with success. The government of Athens, Greece, tried to reduce the number of private cars congesting and polluting the city’s streets, by having cars with odd and even numbered registration plates only allowed on different days. The result was many bought another car with a different registration number, thus increasing the number of cars in the city looking for parking places.

Wasn't odd/even number plates implemented during the gas shortage. And I think there were odd/even number houses for watering grass in some states. Some other types of restrictions were made on odd/even days of the month.

A nice complete story line. Unlike the ones which leave you hanging. Thanks. Love it.
How do you escape when you can only run once and the pursuer can follow? Make them run and don't follow.
Well written. Well acted. Well produced. I love it when a low budget movie is so cleverly done that it doesn't seem low budget. BTW I'm an "odd" 🙂
Relationships like these are hard to see for what they are from the inside. He was controlling and supportive. Interesting concept for a movie. It’s too bad she had to separate from him in this way instead just setting boundaries. However this is a reality for some people in relationships like this. Thanks for sharing the movie I enjoyed it!

"He was controlling and supportive" supportive because he wants his property to be the best. "instead just setting boundaries" when he monitors all interactions 1:58 gave her a bugged device and got her to promise to never take it off, 4:33 , even assuming they happened in that order Maybe she gave him another chance, not going ahead with the transfer. Perhaps blocked the bug when she bailed or he wasn't monitoring but anyway he turned up 11:39 and already changed year. Yeah, okay..the boundary becomes 'see you never'. Every single day And every word you say Every game you play Every night you stay I'll be watching you Oh, can't you see You belong to me? How my poor heart aches With every step you take? I liked it, lots of holes but no problem for a short. A bit strange not allowing the change to be reversible. Ohh that is suspicious. Without population control taking out half the population would only move the problem back a few decades. Little difference whether the odd/even were actually on ice or Thana-tossed, but if the odds and evens are further divided/extended by keeping on ice to 1 in 10, 1 in 100.

Ooooo! Clever girl!
Wonderfully done on so many levels, a story of a relationship and the on again off again limits of a relationship. Beautiful.
Excellent story! 👍🏾
definitely on of my favourite in the Dust lineup.Well written and acted and with a great outcome...shame you cant get rid of abusers so easily in todays society.
It'll never happen to me again , being alone I'm free to be me. , even though got along well with my friends , I had to break the friendship because they wanted more than friendship . I miss them , but I don't want to go through this again , that's more important
The idea of "living in odd or even year" is really cool. I love it. Bet it'll be a 2hour movie someday.
Interesting.. but I am intrigued by the idea of how kids are born then? Someone getting pregnant in odd year, how will they give birth in even year considering they would be hibernating...😅

Ah. Another take on Farmer's "The Sliced-Crosswise Only-on-Tuesday World". Nicely done. A bit of a pity you always get the same kind of ending.
I'd be okay with a monthly odd/even system. The Odds are "alive" on Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, and Nov and the Evens on Feb, Apr, Jun, Aug, Oct, and Dec. They'd have to modify holiday celebrations, anniversaries and birthdays, but at least they don't feel like they are losing years of their lives. As a trucker, I'm planning to do that anyway: be on the road non-stop for 30 days and take 30 days off.
Fantastic!
never, ever let yourself end up in a situation where you need to apologize... you may only be forgiven once... so save that for a last resort... if you can't control yourself... then hide... away from people!
I read a story in the Seventies about people sharing the world on a daily schedule so only one seventh of the population was awake at one time
That was excellent

Wow I loved it ❤😢
This deserves a feature! Or even would make a great series. Would love to see how the character grows and continues evolving away from the boyfriend. GREAT work!
You just know that the politicians won’t be doing this.
Smart girl.
That's one way to end a relationship. _____
BUSTED!
I think an odd even system would have been much better than the 'sorry, but you all have to die' that's being implemented. Especially since the planet is not over populated and the only food, water and resource shortages, just like the worsening air quality and environmental pollution is all being created or funded by governments and private industry. Yes, it is a sad fact, one we should have been allowed to at least have a representative present to discuss alternative options.
Another good one @DUST
nice
Gorgeous! But please remember, trust is a choice. If you choose to trust someone, it makes you vulnerable to them, but it saves the relationship. If you are not willing to fanatically trust someone, your jealousy will keep them away from you and the relationship is not possible. It's a choice to ignore the "signs" and wait for explanations without actively search/ask for them. Some signs are fake/misunderstanings, some are true and the person you trusted really had the opportunity to betray you and chose not to. And some are true. But if you believe all are true, you already lost, this relationship is dead even before you even been betrayed. Choose wisely, people. Trust is a choice and more often than not even opening yourself to someone is not an internal need, but a choice. Choose and don't be amazed when your choices act upon your life. That's why you made them.

Renee did not have to accept that relationship. It looked like once Andre hooked her in, he started to change. He spied on her, threw the glass at her, smothered her. The relationship would only worsen. Renee had enough. She did not have to accept him for who he was. He was an abuser.

A new way of scaping abusers, but I thought this kind of problems woludn't exist in the near future, technology can change almost everything but machism, so it's not a real human progress at all 😳😠
interesting movie. Not so easy for women in this life to so effectively cut ties with an abusive relationship
In real life, acting like a decent human being is very difficult for some . As an example, Jails are full of anti social people who are incapable of reform. Be nice to one another, do the right thing, and make life easier for yourself and those around you.

He needed to learn from this, to not be so controlling or he'll never be happy, because no one wants to be with a spouse like that. That's suffocating.
I couldn't get past the spousal abuse. 👎 She barely made it out of an abusive relationship. Good for her! 👍 But the subject is very depressing! 👎 I watch Dust to see sci-fi, not be reminded of bad things that are going on in the world. For that I have to give the video a thumbs down. 👎
