the beauty of him is he never claimed or pretended to be a master actor and in many of his movies he leans into this heavily, just his fun and enthusiasm for what he was doing combined with a physique that actors of this time had never seen before made him the king of action films during the 80s and 90s

Outside of acting: Don't let people tell you to lose your accent, if you move to another part of the country or to a completely different country. Always nice to hear different accents and it's part of who you are.

Arnold has always been an interesting man with an interesting take- very dedicated to what he does, very dedicated to ambition, to pushing himself, to achieving goals, and always serious about these things, but always able to simultaneously get the joke about things like his accent, career, his path in life. I used to own the DVD set of Shogun which had several extra videos about the making of the mini-series. In one, the Japanese actress who played Mariko, Yoko Shimada, talks about what she experienced with her speech coach. She said he would grab her tongue and put it where it needed to go to make the sounds. Can you imagine someone doing that to Arnold? Not to be!

If I ever get to talk to Arnold, I'm going to ask him if the rumour of him not dubbing himself in German (for Terminator) is true. I heard that, apparently, those who were in charge didn't use Arnold's voice because they thought it would be unbelievable that a robot from the future would sound like an Austrian farmer!!

I don't know if this story is true but it sounds true. Over here in Germany Arnold Schwarzenegger was dubbed by a voice actor who performed mainly for action stars, e.g. Sly Stallone and Rutger Hauer. This voice actor passed away recently. Now I remember one particular moment on German TV. Arnie was guest star in a big saturday evening show here in Germany and for the first time ever German audiences heard him speaking with his real voice and his broad Austrian Steiermark-accent. And they laughed heavily because they knew him only dubbed in perfect German. As for me I can't bear the German dubbing and always watch Schwarzenegger movies in the original language only.

The World tries to rate all actors based on one category of 'Dramatic Acting', but the best of Dramatic Actors cannot pull off a 'Terminator' or 'Commando' or 'Rambo' which needs special Physical action performance talent and ability along with giving a regular dramatic, emotional or comic performance, and Arnold and Stallone did it and made it look so easy, but easy its not!

Arnold Schwarzenegger is enjoying his old age too much. I do not like it. It seems to me that he needs to be slightly rejuvenated, well, visually, by 30 years. I think this is quite solvable, but it will take time, 3 years, but this is the maximum, if his body can handle it, then it can be done in 2.5 years.
