It’s sad I lost respect for Akash. if he can be tricked so easily and blatantly overlook facts Like, valuations are not legally binding contracts, but opening positions in negotiation. Trump didn’t say this thing is worth $10 billion and I swear under oath….. He’s telling the bank what he thinks he can get for it, then they do their due diligence and counter. in this case they felt like it was completely fair so they didn’t counter…. There is literally no victim here. Trump paid early and what no one is talking about is he used 25 million of that money To continue to fund first time business owners, who are also single mothers. He also bought two homes for firefighters families who died in the towers . Meanwhile, John Stewart overvalued his property and it was an actual crime because when he sold his house, the person who bought it lost 4 1/2 million dollars And had to pay much higher tax than John Stewart listed by $100,000…. In other words, John Stewart didn’t just lie on his loan forms, he lied on his taxes

@@lfcbprowhat the business guys are doing is using the going price as the appraised price. I own farmland, and it’s current going value at the moment is roughly $350k/quarter section. On the RM map it is assessed at roughly $200k/quarter. Not far from me, some land sold to a big company for $800k/quarter. If I choose to use $800k as the value, when I’m putting the land up as collateral for a loan, it’s up to the bank to accept or deny, based on their own appraisal. If they accept it, then we sign a contract between the two of us. It has nothing to do with the law or government, as to whether the appraisal is accurate. The only law involved is that both parties have to honor the signed contract.

Anyone that has ever bought a house and especially if you refinanced a house, you say how much you think the house is worth....then they tell you no its worth this or yes its worth what you say. The other part is Stewart said something about him not paying taxes at the same rate that he valued the house at. Again that is on the state or county to do for those property taxes. And when stewart called him out on the tax part that is EXACTLY what stewart did with his housed, and neither trump or stewart is wrong in doing this, its how it works. I've had to go to the county when house prices dropped cause I was being taxed at what I bought it for but the market value dropped significantly, and show them comparable houses were sold for less, and got the value dropped. However, when house prices go up after I bought a house, I didnt go running to the county to ask to get it reassessed, no one does or should. The argument being made against trump is not honest. And schulz is correct, there are other things that maybe have more substance to them.

If the speed limit sign says 55 mph, but no one gets pulled over and ticketed for speeding until they're going 70 mph, then the speed limit is actually 70. If a cop singles out 1 or even more cars for going 60, but let's everyone else go, then the law has become unreliable and not a law that is enforced. The equal application of the law is as important, and maybe even more important than the letter of the law and it's spirit. If you single out some and let other go (in Trumps case it's singling out 1 person and letting literally everyone else go), then by definition the judicial system is be unevenly applied and is corrupted.

When looking at the value of property, the government has a base appraisal, essentially the cost of the building itself and the land it’s on, and they tax you based on that value. The market value is the price people are willing to pay. Your house could be worth $400k, you’d get taxed at that value. But you could list it for $600k and likely get a buyer. You won’t get charged with fraud for this, and rightfully so. If I had a rock, and told someone it’s worth $100, it’s on them if they want to pay $100 for my rock. I’m not getting charged with fraud.

What law was broken? Trump essentially used the market value when putting his property up as collateral for the loan. He knew that he could get the larger value for it if he wanted to sell it. The bank accepted his assessment and signed a contract with that value. Both parties made money on the transaction. As for the property taxes, EVERYONE pays property tax based on the base value of the property, not on the market value. If your house is worth a base price of $400k, your taxes are paid based on that. But you could list it for $600k, and people would be willing to pay that and sign a contract based on that. That makes $600k the market value.

@@Richflytime proven guilty, until he appeals and the Supreme Court finds him innocent, because they don’t have Trump Derangement Syndrome, but rather follow the letter of the law. He probably has had plenty of instances of inappropriate conduct with women, be it just touching in appropriately or otherwise. But it seems like most politicians have. There’s many accusations against Biden, and there’s whole highlight reels of his touching and sniffing children, it’s creepy. My point is, don’t vote for Biden because Trump is a pervert, or vote for Trump because Biden is a pervert. They’re all perverts, so vote based on different guidelines. As for being under investigation for anything, that’s because there’s a witch-hunt against him, and they’re looking for anything on Trump they can make stick. He didn’t invite an insurrection, he called for protest not a takeover of the Capitol. No one in the Capitol were using weapons, or being violent, most were just walking around the building. Trump requested the National Guard to beef up security, but Pelosi turned them away, as ultimately it was her call. This was corroborated by the ex-chief of Capitol police. The media and Democrats are playing up this whole “insurrection” narrative as a way to take votes away from Trump, and to scare voters away from him. Just the same as how they pumped out that Russian collusion conspiracy theory, for four years straight, until the investigation found no solid evidence of such.

I applied for a HELOC at my local bank. They asked for my homes value. I told them the number based on my opinion and real estate websites. Turns out the bank doesn’t care about any other persons appraisal other than who they hired which severely undervalued the home because that’s what the bank was comfortable loaning. This was for $50k. Imagine when it’s for millions the amount of due diligence that is done. I am glad Andrew pushed back and at least had some understanding of the facts.

Bro Akash is dumb dumb on this. Trump did the same valuations. It’s not illegal binding document. It’s an opening bid so the banks can counter offer for a higher interest rate… John Stewart on the other hand, said his place was worth 18 million then put 1.8 million then put 797,000 on the tax forms so he paid 50% of what he should have on taxes…. It’s much worse than what Trump did, but like just don’t know enough and the entire system is out for Trump. Just look at the facts objectively Jon Stewart tried to dunk on Trump and then he got caught with his pants down for doing the same exact thing but worse . Just admit he’s a hypocrite liar. I admit Trump lied a ton in the past.

Being that Jon is as close to universally liked as a left wing guy can be. This thought process has a high probability to be from people who are right leaning, and thus likely a trump person. You can also read someone when they have more smoke for jon stewart, than anything thing that Jon stewart is criticizing. In this case Trump. Commercial Real Estate isn’t valued by square foot, it is valued by Net Operating Income divided by the general capitalization rate for an area. When I send my statements to lenders I value my properties 6.5%. The bank can accept that or not. The scared thing with Trump is there was not a complaint or victim. The State went looking for a crime found a number they didn’t agree with, created a crime, and extorted 450 million from the GOP nominee

Still missing the biggest piece of the puzzle. Yes, he lied on the application for the loan. That application was not the valuation that was used for the loan. Like the bank said, "we did our own due diligence, ... and we will do business with him again." His lie doesn't matter at all.

  • @JT-gi8rx

It wasn’t a lie at all, he was using the market value. The value of what he knew he could get on a sale. Like if Stewart had got a loan, using his $17mill property as collateral. He sold it for that much, so it’s 100% fair to have got a loan with it at that value.
