1:50 FYI: You're combining 2 separate stories from the Cold War. The submarine was during the Cuban Missile Crisis. The sub was being hit by depth charges and 1 of the 3 officers needed to launch the nuke refused. The 2nd story was in Russia proper at a missile silo. They had a malfunction on their radar and the guy in charge chose to ignore the radar and not allow his site to launch.

But the reality is, we stopped testing nukes shortly after world war 2 and we started using dynamite that equaled the size of nuclear explosions because of the radiation concerns. And when we allegedly nukes Japan, people said that Nagasaki and Hiroshima both looked identical to the other cities we fire bombed. And when you’re Japanese and you make your houses and walls out of paper and wood, fire bombs can easily destroy cities and turn them to ash instantly. As long as the world thinks nukes exist, wars are prevented.

I wish that was true but unfortunately this is in the top 5 dumbest comments I've ever read. Both cities looked similar because we detonated the nuclear bombs hundreds of feet above the ground with one plane, now imagine hundreds of planes with hundreds of nukes like how we had to fire bomb. I assure you nuclear bombs exist, not only that hydrogen or thermonuclear bombs exist and we cannot make dynamite bombs no where near as big as those. Lil boy we dropped on Nagasaki was a super baby mini nuke compared to what we have today so much so we don't think radiation would be as big of an issue in today's nuclear war as the blast zone is so big with the same amount of rads lil boy had. We thought it would take dozens of nukes to wipe a city so rads would be bad but today we could do it with one giant hydrogen bomb so the rads would be no more then Nagasakis was.
