​@@reeseturner5445 Uh.... what? ! If this is a duet then there are literally thousands!!! Duets for a viola + another bowed string instrument though .... then that's a different ball-game.

I discovered you when I read you were moving into the Julliard Quartet. I started playing viola when I transitioned from a military musician to a public school music teacher. That was 22 years ago. I am in awe of your playing. I am inspired to combine my background in jazz guitar with my viola voice. This piece demonstrates the real power of the viola in your hands. And of course the masterful way your accompanist plays must be acknowledged as well. As a guitarist, I have accompanied many a solo instrument in a duo setting.

I've been searching for the perfect duo of piano and another instrument for this masterpiece and I thought the cello was it until I discovered this duo with the viola. It's amazing how similar the two are!

If you look closely between her and the viola, You can see how the viola is guiding her. It's as if she were a scribe to be used by the viola to be heard. Like a bridge. This brought me to tears.

The Violist is constantly breathing between musical phrases to indicate when she’s gonna start if you listen closely! She’s totally guiding the piano ;)

I find it really hard to find violists that play music like this and you absolutely nailed it. also the piano????? I love??????

Hellow to Carr & Petrova! This is the 2nd time for me to listen to Viola Schubert. veryvery beautiful, and sweety and lyric sound in suitable calm tempo are stunning. I would feel Schubert might have left a little bit cool passion in salty loving touch Serenade, which may be concerned with unprofitable love. Occasionally I used to listen to Isaac Stern Serenade with orchestra, his triplet, especially length of the 3rd 8 note in triplet, also length of 8 note after dotted quoter note, various dotted note here and there are so mysterious and graceful, especially the length of dotted 8 note and the length of 16 note after dotted 8 note. He might had been aware of the comparison with the even number and the odd number, oh sorry it's my opinion. Stern might have holed to sweet passion. Anway I would feel he should had played in passionate emotion, that's why he is Mr. not Female. and more introduction of orchestra tempo is so stunning for me. "what is INTRODUCTION? I would feel that can't falling in presiding over the whole music touch from the beginning to the end. (soon be 91yrs.Japanese) Sweeten, Bitter, Beautiful, Sorrowful and Graceful Serenade on the Earth, at the Zenith, Greatest Masterpiece.sorry strange English.

This is just great. Perfect ensemble. If only us singers could go up the 8ve like that with the same ease! NO FAIR! ;) In all seriousness though, singing teachers who go on about 'simultaneous onset of sound' need to show their pupils your playing. You really DO make your instrument sing (bow = breath etc.)
