    Who own these international schools in SG ? They should be trillionaires now. Besides the exorbitant fees, there's also exorbitant annual membership fee if I remember correctly.

    It’s not a comparison of education system between US and Singapore. It’s just about International and private schools. The core comparison should be the public schools which the majority of children from both count attending.

  • @Ykibmh
    @Ykibmh11 ай бұрын

    Whoever owns these private schools are probably millionaires. Like actually. They have amazing facilities compared to public schools (the one next to my school is private and really expensive, but their facilities are soooo good). The education system is such a mess that I'm not going to explain. Stress is rampant.

    Simply put, any kid can attend public school in US, quality varying wildly dependent on neighborhood. In SG, have to opt for pricey private, due to restricted availability in Public schools for foreign status kids

    Singapore is a better country overall compared to the US. The schools are better, crime doesn't hardly exist, drugs barely show-up because it's a serious crime there, it's a very clean country and people are nice there.

    Yeah I mean Singapore is a nation state and it’s the size of a very small lake in the US. So comparing really is apples to oranges.

    @@jasonlahey1550 I have been to Singapore many times and it isn't the size of a small lake. It's cleaner than NY, safer, better government, better subways, everything is better and of course their education system is better than NY.

    @@duket5 so have I and it’s smaller than lake Nippissing in Ontario to give you a perspective of the comparison. Of course they’ve also done a lot of land reclamation too. Comparing Singapore which only really evolved starting somewhere in the 60s is a bit of stretch. Not saying it’s not nice but 80 percent of the land is also owned by the government so you can do rather amazing things when you have full control of many things.

    @@jasonlahey1550 geez, first you said smaller than a lake in the US; then when I corrected you, you mentioned Ontario. NY is a horrible place and so is its education system. You can't defend failure.

    SG International schools are just for profit. Nobody really bothers about teaching or learning. SG is already expensive, imagine paying $50k for elementary in a top international school. It is high time for SG Govt to put some restrictions on these schools. Even the schools which are non-profit charges a fortune. I still don't understand why parents dish out so much money for basic education?

    ngl if u r poor, go to sg (moe will handle ur school fees until u finish sec sch). if u r the type who gets stressed easily or that u r very rich, just stay put or go to another country. BUT DON'T GO TO MALAYSIA APPRENTLY YOU WON'T EVEN KNOW WHICH SCH U WILL GO TO LIKE IF U GET A C+ U CAN STILL GO TO A PRESTIGEOUS SCH BUT AN A* PUPIL MIGHT NOT EVEN GET IN

    even the prestigious sch like boarding schools are only open for malaysians lol, so chances if youre a foreigner u might as well be admitted to gov school (which has meh facilities n teachers) even if u score well for your exams. n u will be put in the same class as those who do not do well in their studies, peer pressure n influence etc
