School of Rock Claremont's Keyboard Orchestra

Introducing the School of Rock Keyboard Orchestra
How can we get keyboard students excited about the possibilities of keyboards and synthesis? After all, 90% of current music is electronic and this is the music they're most exposed to at school, radio and on sites like Tik Tok.
Yes, we want to teach you solid piano chops but also introduce you to the world of keyboard/electronic and synth-based music. This group class will take the form of a traditional band, but with all parts played on keyboard: think Depeche Mode, Electric Youth, Daft Punk, Kraftwerk etc...
One student might learn how to finger drum, while another plays synth bass, another harmony, another keytar and another vocoder. The possibilities are endless, since keyboards can synthesize any sound imaginable and can be used to play countless genres.
The keyboard is more than just a series of white and black notes - it's a world of music just waiting for you to synthesize your creative energy. In the School of Rock Keyboard Orchestra you'll learn how to create and play entire songs using only keyboards in a fun, exciting and colourful group format. Learn how to play drum grooves (finger drumming), bombastic basslines (synth bass), rip a keytar solo (that keyboard that looks like an electric guitar) and explore thousands of synthesized sounds.
Our Keyboard Orchestra can accommodate 4 x students per group between the ages of 8-18. Students must have the required skill level in order to join the Keyboard Orchestra (Rock 101 and Performance Programme skill level).
