Hi TSL, thanks for starting this series. Having fun learning about different cultures. Maybe something to consider: participants could bring items / share interesting photos to spice things up. E.g. one of the guest had a crazy haircut in the past that was allowed, etc. Just a thought that I had when watching the video.

Love hearing about all these differences in cultures~ Never stop doing these kind of videos! FYI: Madrasah students (Islamic Religious Students) go to school from 7am to 430pm :") inclusive of CCA of course. and you can imagine our uniform. Primary school girls they can wear 3/4 long sleeve shirts with matching pants (pantsuit uniform) and a shorter scarf but secondary school girls will have to wear a long Jubah (long loose baggy dress) with a long scarf thats long to your bellybutton. we do have another so called uniform for CCA, which is just black scarf, 3/4 long sleeve shirts and black pants. but imagine rushing for the bus or for class in a long dress everyday especially during rainy seasons :")

It’s not entirely true that you study all the same subjects in Myanmar actually. When students reach Grade 9, they can specialise into bio (sciences), which a lot of students take if they want to go into medical school, or eco (economics) - more for business and other areas. So at least 3 subjects will be different among the specialisations for their university matriculation exam. But of course private schools are entirely different because they model British/American systems to get the students to go overseas.

There are historical and background reasons for why Singapore's schooling system is somewhat different from other Countries. For the AM/PM session, the main reason was capacity. If Singapore went with single session system, we would need double the capacity and that will require building A LOT of new schools. To accommodate the 2 sessions, the schedules will need to be adjusted, hence morning session has to start earlier. For the early start for morning session, it is earlier than the morning rush hour. This way, the morning session students actually travel and reach school just before all the working adults start their day. Parents can send their kids to school and still get to work on time. Public transport is also less stressed with this schedule. For school uniforms, in Singapore Primary and Secondary school, muslim students are not allowed to wear tudung. It was discussed and debated in parliament not too long ago.

Sengkang Secondary School girls' uniform consist of a checked skirt which looks similar to what Charmaine was wearing in this video. However, their boys' uniform pants are purely green and looks like any ordinary school uniform pants here.
