How did our new AD not see this coming? But on a larger scale, why is the Texas A&M carousel of ADs & head coaches such an ongoing parade of failures, phonies, liars, and traitors? Could the problem lie higher up, among the board of regents? Why do we seem to be so cursed in athletics? Not just lately, but for decades?

well, the president of the university is the most hated Chief of Staff the Air Force ever had. He even had a custom uniform made for his CoC when taking over and destroyed any traditions the AF had as a service. He is still talked about as a story of how not to lead, so if I was a big time A&M donor I'd start by getting rid of him and those that vetted him. If you have an AF buddy that was in around his time just go an ask. And thats who is leading the show right now, someone the Air Force members hate. I'd stop my kid who i pushed to go there to not go now just because of him. Cant have integrity and all the other monikers the university pushes with that person at the helm.

He is hated among the rank and file, destroyed most of our traditions and standards while allowing the force to be decimated in several ways. He was atrocious thats why he doesn't come around anymore for any AF functions. Again go ask someone that served in the AF under him and let me know how many defend him as even adequate. But if Trev likes him I guess its all good and nothing I said holds water or maybe he didnt serve under him and know his leadership style. Then again maybe Trev does and thats why one of his first actions was to cut positions without informing coaches. Thats a welsh type move I remember well.

He was never going to stay with Del Conte there. If it was offered, he was going to take it. Also, this is just tu being tu, right? They break their toys, destroy their conference, cry for what someone else has, then make some splashy hires, and leave for a new conference (as Saban is retiring). And they get away with it because they have the biggest t-shirt following in all of collegiate sports. That cow, man. LA VACA. I live in austin and I can tell you, Schloss will fit right in down on 40 acres with all his sip friends. Good for him. We'll likely have to rebuild, and that's ok. Its cyclical.

Ok, so you have an AD who strategically waited to fire their coach on the day of the championship game, while one of the coaches in that championship game knew that was coming. Then, you have a coach who looked right at the camera and lied, and lied the way only a person with practice can lie. Not only did he lie, but chastised the reporter who asked the question on his way out the door. That is quite an AD and Coach combo. So here is the question: When you look at Schlossnagle, Freeze, Kiffen and Petrino....., do they have such an incredibly rare talent that the rest of us have to tolerate their lies, cheating and extramarital affairs including stints with hookers? Or, is there something wrong with college sports in general in that ADs across the country just don't dig deep enough to find coaching talent with moral character because it's just easier to continue to fish in this toxic pool known offenders who know how to win?

The Aggies were a few outs from winning their first national baseball title ever. I would say that he did leave the program better than he found it. It’s all just a business these days. School loyalty has no meaning for coaches and doesn’t for many athletes. Rooting for a school is about the same as rooting for a corporation to have a good year. He’s just like any employee that decides to change companies. It has become hard to be very passionate about college sports, especially in the big revenue generating sports.
