This silent travelogue is reel 1 of “Schley Ride to Puerto Rico (The 51st State?)”, a film in the series dubbed “Picturelogues” produced and directed by Norman E. Schley. This film covers a journey across the island of Puerto Rico starting in the capital of San Juan and proceeding to smaller towns and jungle areas portraying cities, beaches, agriculture, and historical attractions. This version of the film is silent, but most likely a sound version was produced at some point. Many of Schley's films aired on television, and some were also shown in front of a live audience, with Schley reading from a narration script as the film was projected.

    I currently live in Puerto Rico and can say all is much better today in 2023 and will be beyond, since there is lots a positive developments going on. Before you ask yes the beaches are better now.
