Yes, and with notifications on, you get notified too.

I just installed mine about a month ago and I just checked my battery life and I am a 94%. Yes I am up on Thread at this pace I should get 6-8 months out of the batteries. My Schlage Sense average about 9-10 months and really started to go when it got super cold. Not sure why you are only getting 2 months.

HomeKit is a free app that runs only on Apple devices.

Yes, kind of. You need an Apple TV in order for HomeKit to work.

Yep, this is the kit I bought and use. geni.us/SchlageRekeyKit (Amazon Affilaite Link) It doesn't come with a case but I linked the case in the description plus an end cap removal tool thats not required but makes it easier to get the end cap and tail off the cylinder. A pin or screw driver also works but takes a little longer.

I don’t know what’s up with yours, but I’ve had mine since July 2022 and it’s battery has only been replaced once?

My Schlage connect with Z-wave plus last about 1year with Duracell Battery's , 2 months is just ridiculous .

I'm curious if maybe he was using rechargeables and that's what caused a shorter battery life?

Biggest complain about this lock is the keypad does not light up enough to see the numbers well. I simply input my code based on muscle memory but you can’t see a damn thing.

To illuminate the keypad you can press the house icon or the lock icon on the lower left or right hand side for it to light up before entering your code

I'd take the 2 months - My August lock gets 6 weeks tops

Without Express Mode on, you'll have to use FaceID or Passcode

So this doesn't work if you don't have a homepod? I don't see that in the description of the product on their site. It is already close to $80 more than the previous version, so If I want it I have to now buy an $80 homepod to be able to lock/unlock quickly with my phone/watch? ):

A homepod, homepod mini, or ATV is for automations and remote access in HomeKit over thread. You can still use Apple Home Key without one though and HomeKit works on your phone when within Bluetooth range of the lock. This also works over WiFi for Alexa, Google & the native Schlage app, but like I said in the video, this is a lock your paying extra for Apple Home Key.

Well, the battery depends on how much you use it

I had a kid who constantly lost her key (ADHD) when we were in our apartment. When I bought my house years ago, I got a Z-Wave Schlage that worked with SmartThings. I didn’t give her a key, just a code, but I love it. It’s handy being able to unlock it with my phone if I’ve got a bunch of stuff to bring in like groceries. I’ve also got ADHD, so if I’m distracted when I’m leaving, it’s nice to be able to check the app to see if my door’s locked. Also, if you have tradespeople that need to come in, you can unlock the door remotely or give them a code and deactivate it when they’re done. Some locks will allow you to put time parameters on when the codes are active. If I feel like I’m being followed, I’m not going to lead them home. If you need to get in your house quickly, NFC is not the way to go. Open the app and use WiFi as you’re walking up or in your car. Seconds can matter.
