Schemua march | Trachtenkapelle Wulfenia

The Trachtenkapelle Wulfenia was founded in 1948 by men with an interest in music from the village of Tröpolach in the Gailtal (Carnic region / Carinthia / Austria) with its 500 inhabitants. It was named after the unique flower "Wulfenia carinthiaca" which grows on the Gartnerkofel. It is a purely amateur orchestra and, in addition to its musical and socio-pedagogical tasks, has the aim of cultivating musical culture. This includes the preservation of traditional brass music with old Austrian marches, the creation of sacred and classical works, but also the enjoyment of modern big band and dance rhythms.
The original purpose of marching music was to regulate the tempo and marching pace of a troop and to cheer it on. In this function, thousands of compositions have spread to all continents, whereby the strict and simple, mostly four-part form allows only little compositional variation and thus few regional differences.
