Really looking forward to see how the studio version of Cholo Love is going to sound - he's releasing it August 9th. And I love the fact that he's going to present different styles from the get-go. He's not a one-dimensional artist and his creativity and diverse tunes are what I really love about his music. Cannot wait for the full album!

You missed a classic show by 9 inch nails. ( Woodstock 94) . So your playing in the U.K. ! I hope you get a gig at the Glastonbury Festival UK. Nothing compares to it anywhere in the world! I think I can hear some of his “untold” story by listening to little details in several of the interviews he’s done. Growing up my mother was a very fundamentalist Christian and she wouldn’t let my brother and I listen to “worldly music” or watch “worldly movies/cartoons/tv shows.” We weren’t allowed to celebrate Halloween or participate in other “worldly” activities. I went to a private christian school and to church 4 days out of the week twice on Sunday. So from an early age I had to sneak around to listen to good music and watch cool movies/tv. I remember hiding somewhere in the house so I could record my favorite songs off the radio on to audio tape. I used to secretly watch music videos like the way other kids my age were looking at “porno mags,” as the beasties put it. I was scared of getting caught listening to ozzy Osborne because he was a “Satan worshipper” according to my mother. Perhaps it was all the hiding and sneaking around but I fell in love with music and long story short I taught myself how to play guitar, started writing songs, started a band, almost signed to Epic Records, got to tour with some famous bands at the time, and even got a great paying job writing music. I’m an old fart now and obviously Alejandro’s path is very different than mine, he’s far more talented BTW, but I feel like his story has something to do with a religious upbringing and having to sneak around to listen to NIN... haha, I too had to hide my NIN CDs. I’m really rooting for Alejandro now (didn’t want him to win Idol, he’s far greater talent for that show, he made all other contestants past and present seem like commercial jingl-ers) and admittedly I am a bit jealous but in a good supportive way :) Kindred spirit

Awesome interview. I enjoyed the conversation about being open-minded with music. Alejandro is known for blending various genres in his music and even within each song as well. From industrial with sprinkles of classical to jazzy with some R&B to acoustic and folk to ‘90’s synth/pop, his vast knowledge of music just blows me away. Add the fact that he possesses genius skills on both piano and guitar AND his smooth soulful vocals and you have an artist of a lifetime. You’re a shining star!

I am a huge fan of Alejandro's and it pains me to say this but his concert last night at Park West was extremely disappointing. I read that he was going to have a band but I expected they would compliment his music in the background. Instead, the band completely drowned him out. The drummer was especially loud. Alejandro's first four numbers were hard rock and the band was so loud that we couldn't even hear a word AA was singing. One of my friends had to leave the venue and wait outside. It was that loud! At first, I wasn't even sure it was him on stage as the music sounded like noise and not what I’ve become accustomed to hearing from AA. A couple of young guys sitting near us looked bewildered, turned to us and asked, "What happened?" - to Alejandro, we presumed. We responded, "We don't know." All of Alejandro's concerts to date have been just him and his guitar. HE DOESN'T NEED A BAND. I realize AA has different styles of music, I love his acoustic numbers but appreciate Dissonant Harmony, Satisfied, etc. as well. He played only two acoustic solos which the crowd clearly loved - you could hear a pin drop. My understanding is that he will have a band accompany him for the fall tour. If the band is similar (or the same one) to the one that performed tonight, many of his fans are in for a huge disappointment. I have been raving to my friends about AA, were excited about this concert and found myself apologizing to them all the way home. Sure hope he performs at least four numbers with only his acoustic guitar for the fall tour. Finally, will someone on Alejandro's team please steer him to a professional who can guide him on how to properly care for his voice. He has mentioned problems with his voice during the last few concerts. If his voice is failing him now, what's going to happen in the fall when he has to perform at 30 different venues? In fact, I wonder if he is straining his voice from attempting to sing as loudly as the band. Sincerely wishing AA all the best. Peace.

MOvalle that is the artist direction he has decided and as fans we shouldn’t force him to play how we want him to. I just saw him in concert last night his first half was loud but amazing and his band was loud but on beat and not just noise. I understand people who fell in love with him on American idol might be disappointed but that wasn’t his true self he was limited and had to make tv friendly music. He was amazing last night. I wish I could see him again. You may just be a fan of a couple of songs and that’s okay. :) i enjoyed what he delivered.

@@Horchata_y_papitas Of course he should play whatever music he wants. I get that. However, after the six week mini tour which was acoustic, AI asked fans if they wanted more concerts. Fans responded enthusiastically and most of us had a "reasonable expectation" that fall tour would be a continuation of the acoustic concerts. It would be like going to a jazz concert and having a country band play OR vice versa (I love both genres). I've read recent critical remarks from Portland, Boulder and Berkeley fans who were in shock at the concert with many Portland fans walking out. AA has said that he had 2K Instagram followers before AI. At one point, number grew to over 750K during AI. He has lost almost 30K followers - probably attributed to very negative remark he posted about a month ago. For godsake, where is his management team? They are supposed to guide him. And no shade here - I love his voice on acoustic music, but IMO it's not strong enough for hard rock. He is free to perform whatever kind of music he so desires, just let his audience know so they can determine whether they want to attend. Peace out.

It’s 2019 so I think it’s OK to ask does anyone know what his sexual preferences might be? He doesn’t talk much about women so just curious.
