Reminds me of enjoying the liquid 1/4mile drags @ Longbeach Marine Stadium back in the '70's. I got to witness " Smoke on the Water 006 " set a record there at 203.60 mph . Fast for the times. Condo's chased that event away for good. This boat is insanely fast, well done.

My Dad still goes into the Marine Stadium stories when people folks start talking about California and reminiscing about the good old days... And they were, I don't blame him a bit.

1,000 horsepower is just perfect to 'play' with in water. Got cam? Got blower? Got duel 4 barrels? Got Big Block? OK, let's go play fast.

I grew up with a blown V-8 flat bottom boat. Brings back memories of Calero Lake in San Jose California.... The good old days.

Reminds me of my cousin's former boat "Cheap Thrills". If I remember correctly it had a dual-supercharged rat motor. Insane speed on the water. Tunnel vision above about 80 mph and that wasn't anywhere near top speed.

Man that's a great boat! Kinsler fuel injection? I had a '76 Taylor SS for a number of years, white with red and blue belt line stripes. The stock 455 Olds and a Berkely Jet with a little more cam, probably around 350hp. It would do around 55-60 mph, no speed demon, but enough to be a little bit of fun. Chop, shake, rattle and roll is part of life with a flat bottom speed boat, and a lot of fun, Ha Ha!

That looks like a ton of fun. Ear to ear grin. Cool video!

We use to call them drag boats. No transmission. Just a direct V-drive. It can’t sit stationary while the motor is running. Only good for going fast and bumpy in a straight line.
