If she used a regular full length crossbow, then a shoulder guard/pad would make sense. And I too always wondered where the heck was the quiver for her bolts. And her boots always reminded me of a Wellington Boot or similar British set of rubbers. A spring loaded derringer/hold-out gun was a good idea if it wasn't that they lacked punch and were inaccurate as heck (I used to have a .32ACP as a boot gun). I wonder if Larry (Hama) wanted to have a female Hawkeye but avoid the Amazonian concept of lopping off a breast to not interfere with knocking back the bow. I think she would have benefitted a bit more thought behind design, but it may have come down to price point and the fact there was already 2 black heavy characters in the works (or wanted to differentiate her from The Baroness). I would see her in a lightweight bodysock-like outfit with a ballistic weave or kevlar-titanium mesh vest and patches in vulnerable areas of her extremities. Also, wouldn't she need a tool pack for infiltrating sensors and ECM/ECCM devices or is that not part of the Counter Intelligence tool bag?

@TenNoZeorymer72 Counterintelligence gets a bit outside of my wheelhouse, so I can't say for sure. I like that you almost described her uniform from the movie though lol

I don't think that ECM and ECCM gear wouldn't be a part of counter intelligence's tool bag, I think would be something used by a dedicated EW unit and personnel.

@Riceball01 I'd probably agree there, so we'll have to see who we find that fits that mold as we go!

Intelligence agents often attend but do not graduate schools such as those listed when preparing for joint operations with said unit.

very nice! I have always loved Scarlett and now I know more about here. Y'know as soon as you mentioned the crossbow, I wondered if there was such a thing and then you said no there wasn't. So now I know! Sometimes I wonder about the info on these things. Doesn't seem like it's researched very much. Maybe they just didn't care and made it up as they went along. This sounds good and this looks good. Doesn't matter how realistic it is. Probably as it was just a toy! Oh well. Thanks Doc and look forward to snake Eyes!

Fun analysis. Does beg the question Larry Hama's thought process.

@rlpittsjr Yeah, but as he was a combat veteran, I'm sure that he had some reasoning. I'd love a chance to talk to him someday.

Well, Snake Eyes is technically a Commando, not a "ninja". As, you know, "ninjas in the movies do not exist".

@stanleyteriaca2184 On his file card that's true, but I'm taking the comics into account too since I bow to the knowledge of Mr. Larry Hama for all things G.I. Joe lol

@@dr.animaction Well, he is two, two, two things in one. Also future card files do call him a "Ninja Commando", so there is that. Commando, the only military job where your expected to go out of a war zone with more weapons then you came in with.

I don't see how her codename being inspired by a character from a book and film that are still considered great art to be problematic. Not everything has to be an affront to wokeness ffs.
