New subscriber here. I definitely think it would be interesting if you were to focus on your study and analysis of each series before moving on to the next year ('82 in this case). The theme of your channel - understanding Joe from a real world perspective - is brilliant. Keep up the good work!

@GammaFitInc Thanks for subscribing, glad you're enjoying the series! I definitely plan to go through one entire year before moving onto the next, so I hope you keep following along!
- . - . - - . - Good vid. Best use of "over" in Hollywood is, of course, Airplane!

@TenNoZeorymer72 True enough, but I wasn't talking to Cpt. Clarence Unger in this video!
R.I.P Breaker he was a great computer hacker on the team.

@@dr.animaction I agree.
I for one would like to see how these characters were depicted in the comics and cartoon. Also, when were you in the service?

@Rhomega Cool, I think that will definitely be a fun topic to cover. To answer your question, I was in the Army from 96-03.
Can you go more into the battle that had a bunch of joes cut down? First I'm hearing about it.

Check out the original GI Joe ARAH comic issue 109, Death in the Desert. Quit a few Joe's died in that issue

@KujakuDM I may do some specific comic content in the future. As BMXIX said though, check G.I. Joe 109, which is where the Battle of Benzheen started. Sevel Joes died there, and a few more throughout the story arc, which runs through issue 113.
Very cool! I always liked Breaker in the comics and the 'toon. I even did some "Tweeting" AS Breaker (Alvin Kibbey, just swpped to then-modern, vs the NATO vesrion of Breaker in the movie) after "Rise of Cobra" released where I was posting about how to get stuff done qhile the White House was infiltrated by Zartan, etc. Good times.

@joshuakanapkey6570 No judgement here either way! lol
Is there some way to actually read the original run of GI Joe comics that you are aware of?

Not cheaply. I don't know if it is a Disney/Marvel thing, but only the 1st issue and the new issues (301 and onward) are available via comixology. No digital version of the Marvel that I have found and the physical books are ridiculously expensive.

@KujakuDM Not that I know of, though there is an (expensive) omnibus edition coming soon through a Kickstarter campaign.
