    I was a binge drinker. Drank from Thursday night to Sunday, nonstop. Thankfully, I was never actually physically addicted, my body always had a few days to recuperate after drinking, so never experienced withdrawals or the DT's. I ended up quitting because of the terrifying blackouts. 4/5/6/7 hour blackouts. Woke up remembering almost nothing. Havent had a drink now for almost 10 years. Listening to your experience, Im glad i had a relatively easy escape. The hallucinations sound absolutely horrifying. I cant even imagine what that must have been like. Your story reminds me of the book The Lost Weekend by Charles Jackson. He describes the DT's in detail. That book was one of the things that scared me into sobriety. But glad to hear things have improved for you. Hope youre doing well, Dirk. Thanks for sharing your experience. Im sure it has helped lots of people. All the best.

    The most AMAZING and horrible event(s) of my life. As a matter of fact, most folks in 'Recovery Meetings' have never experienced REAL Delirium Tremens. They think the 'shakes' and puking are DT's. No, fuck no...they are not. But, the folks who HAVE been there?? We just usually say "yea....awful"... Because we KNOW! It's almost impossible to describe to those that have not 'Been There'. Precisely why I created this Channel. No fancy editing. Just straight forward 'Alcoholism & Real Delirium Tremens'. The feedback has been nothing short of AMAZING!!! Too cool- Thank you again! I am glad you're here with us:) Dirk💯💯💯

    My roof started turning into insane red vines, faces and spaceships were kind of just floating all around my room. A few hours later, could hear children screaming outside my window that weren’t even there. Music that wasn’t on. Train whistles. Repetitive nightmares of clowns & an unexplainable gore filled hell. Top that with tachycardia and a feeling of completely lunacy. I had to taper off with a beer method a few months ago, and haven’t drank since. FUCK ALCOHOL! The drinking games are over. Thank you for these videos to help show the world the true evil behind the bottle.

    Man, this would be a great story for a Horror movie "Room 1408" style.. .I had these dark shadow creatures trying to pull me out of my bed when I was in the middle of depressions (+ horror anxiety). I tried to deal with it all by myself and after a 4 day self-medication- binge in a last attempt to kill all my horrible thoughts/feelings/emptiness and no sleep, I went to to the hospital to finally seek help and thank god everything went uphill from that point on

    Most terrifying experience of life. Happened on my last relapse. I had been sober 6 months and then started drinking. Went on a 24/7 bender for 3 weeks. When I stopped I heard singing in the wind, saw shapes on the wall morphing into strange patterns. Any white noise or static morphed into the sound of a radio talk show. The hallucinations started off being quite neutral, sometimes even beautiful but then as night closed in they turned demonic. I went to the ER got 7 days worth of Valium and never went back.

    God...you are SO lucky!!! Coming from someone who has relapsed countless times in my struggles with alcoholism, I get it. Thats when we do some serious dangerous (!!!) drinking. 24/7. Wake. Puke. Drink. Puke. Drink to pass the fuck out... Repete. Thats exactly what I was doing also up to my first experience with REAL Delirium Tremens. My binge was 6/7 months, and then abruptly quit cold turkey. Bad idea- And, even after that 6 day ordeal that should have killed me (NO question!), I too continued to relapse. I DT'D 4 more times, but not as terrible as the first time. I was lucky/ smart enough to also have some benzos on hand...just in case. Glad you made it, amigo! Man it didn’t get bad for me until day four or five. Got sent to detox from the ER. Later that day I went back to ER and I can’t even explain everything that happened there. I can tell you that my friend was being tortured in the other room. I thought the nurses had injected me with a substance that turned my blood solid. They were pulling my nails out with some sort of vice grips. I was gone for a few days. Finally came to walking around a mental hospital days later. I could go on about the events while there but this would be too long. Scared so bad I stayed dry and fucking miserable for a year before I made an AA meeting and got a sponsor. Today I do all 12 steps and have zero mental issues. I am finally free. Carrying the message I’ll never have to drink again.

I had withdrawals every few hours because I drank 24/7. I couldn’t make it through more than a few hours without a drink so yes I definitely had withdrawals which I tried using benzodiazepines to help. Not recommended. Great video. I have somehow survived DTs 3 times. I have also had minor/major withdrawal symptoms more time than I can count. I have had one withdrawal seizure, oddly enough with no accompanying DT symptoms. I can honestly say I would rather take my chances with a seizure than have the DTs again. 6 months clean now and hopefully for good this time as I don't think I can survive another one.

    One thing you don't mention that might help others. Why the hallucinations happen. This is part of the brains dream state that carries into the conscious state. It is as though both worlds are meshed. This is because the brain is trying to recover and the dream state is trying to recover at the same time. It can be maddening, but if one understands what is happening with the alcoholic brain and detoxing, it may help them understand they are not going crazy. It really sucks because at the time one is not consuming alcohol and yet you feel like you are on a bad acid trip.

  • @thiefonthecross7552

    @thiefonthecross7552

    It's not just a bad trip or hallucinations. These entities are real and exist inter-dimensionally. They can shapeshift (appear as loved ones) and otherwise terrorize people during DTs when the brain and nervous system is so fragile and weak it can no longer maintain the veil between this reality and 'theirs'. This also occurs if people take certain drugs for long periods of time or go without sleep, or experience sleep paralysis. Personally it occurred to me after practicing occultism in the form of channeling. Spiritual warfare is very real and these experiences are a small window into what humanity is battling everyday.

    GREAT question! Because DT'S slide up on you, and because I had NEVER had ANYTHING REMOTELY SIMILAR happen in withdraw, I had NO CLUE what was happening. I had no CLUE that what I was hearing 'wasn't real'. Then, what I was SEEING 'wasn't REAL'! That's the scarry thing. They gradually progress, and it's every bit as real as you or I. Even though it's not happening at all. People who are (fortunate enough) to be hospitalized are often put in a medically induced coma if Delirium Tremens are extremely severe. Its just unbelievably fucked up... And, because they don't START for 72 hours after the last drink, by the time we are full in to fucked, its been 5 or 6 days later! The doctors NEVER asked me if I had stopped drinking. Not once. Wild, right??! Its so beyond unbelievable. It's like taking 20 hits of LSD.. and NOT KNOWING YOU TOOK IT... Wild... I hope that helps answer your question. Thanks, brother! Glad you're sober!!!!!! Dirk:)💯💯💯

Rarely ate. Only left to get more... Terrible. Then, on advice of a minister, quit COLD TURKEY. I had absolutely NO idea whatbi was in for(‼️). I had been drinking close to 3 decades, and thought I knew everything about detoxing as I had done it a 1000 times before. But REAL Delirium Tremens??... I hadn't a clue. The intensity should have killed me. NO question. Yet, I survived it. After that, I would throw myself into state run detoxes for fear of dying in DT'S. I did go into them 4 more times. Once it happens, it's likely to happen again when you drink like I did. It's just UNBELIEVABLE that I did not drink myself to death. Everyone...EVERYONE thought I would.
