Rode it twice, once in front and once in back. I can say that the back is scarier than the front. Especially the top hat, which whips you over and ejects you in the back way more than the front. I preferred the front for the view and being able to anticipate the next elements, but the back is more intense. And that heartline roll is no joke. Definitely the scariest (and most thrilling) element I've ever experienced on any coaster.

I rode Velocicoaster twice. First time was second row right side. Second time was back row right side. This video helped me to understand the coaster before I got on it because I do NOT like surprises. Even though I watched this video like 4 times, I was basically crying in line and having a panic attack lol and almost chickened out. I rode it though and I was honestly underwhelmed by the intensity that I felt. For those who are worried about the stomach dropping feeling on the ride like I was, especially on the hill, I am here to tell you that there was not a SINGLE second that my stomach dropped at any point on the ride. I was worried the most about the hill and the launches. The front of the ride was a smooth, easy ride to me. I had a lot of fun, and I got ejector airtime, but nothing too crazy. I decided to get back on in the very back row today because I wanted to experience more intensity, and boy DID I. However, by no means was it unbearable intensity. The launches were definitely more intense, and I definitely was out of my seat a lot more, and the Mosasaurus roll at the end of the ride for sure tried to launch me into the water at the end of the ride. However, I was not really scared after we took off. I didn’t even tuck my legs the entire ride! And for those scared about the lap bar, you don’t even think about it once you launch. It becomes a second thought. You are very secure despite your upper half being free. It actually makes the experience that much better. I HIGHLY recommend this coaster, and this is coming from a coaster wimp.

I went on this ride a couple weeks ago. It was my first major roller coaster, I didn’t know how extreme it was, I barely even knew it existed before I went. That was probably the greatest ride I’ve ever been on in my life (so far). Every fear I’ve ever had of roller coasters literally melted off the moment the ride was over. I’d do anything to ride it again soon.

I’m 64 years old and rode it. If I can, you can. First time was back row (totally by chance). Second time, a couple hours later, my son and I “chose” front row. I agree with others, that the back row is more intense re airtime, but the front row was much more scary due to the low profile of the front of the car. There’s very little if anything in front of you. Just the track, pretty much. That indeed was quite unnerving. That being said, front row, as it always is, was much smoother. In reality, the entire ride is smooth (much more so than Hulk). Riding on air “the entire time” (airtime, lol) has to be smooth, right? Again, ride it. If a 64 year old geezer can (and love it), you can!

I don’t like that dropping feeling in my stomach and I find it extremely terrifying. I kept telling myself that if it wasn’t for the drop (top hat), I know I would be able to ride it. if i’m going to be honest, he made most parts of this ride a much bigger deal than they actually are. i went on this pretty recently and i am usually a very very nervous person when it comes to big rollercoasters. first of all, i know he said the huge drop wasn’t the worst part of the ride and he wasn’t lying. your going so fast (in a good way) that you can’t even feel the normal feeling in your stomach when going down it. second, the last corkscrew part over the water really isn’t scary at all. maybe to some people it seems terrifying but it happens so quickly you wouldn’t even have time to fall out if you could (the lap bars are way to strong for that to happen) and that was one of my favorite parts of the ride. as long as you tell yourself it will be fun and not as scary as your making it seem, you will have a blast on it. i definitely recommend going on.

I guarantee you, under heavy negative G's if you were to slip through the bars you would come out at great speed. That's the feeling people are scared by, knowing that bar is the one thing stopping you from going splat. And any amount of time is enough, when that force is pushing you out of your seat if you werent restrained you would be moving away from the train and not coming back. You can't start being flung and then come back from that, you're either restrained or you're dead. People know lap bars work, but that doesn't eliminate all instinctive fear when trying an extreme experience for the first time. People don't all rationalise things the way you do.

I went on the velocicoaster ride for the first time last Saturday and OH MY GOD. It is the SCARIEST RIDE I HAVE EVER BEEN ON. My best friend comforted me while we were in line, but nothing could have prepared me for the part where the restraints came down and I didn’t have anything to hold onto near my chest. It was just this little bar above my waist and I screamed “THIS IS ALL WE GET?!?” And as soon as the ride took off I held on for dear LIFE. I couldn’t even scream for part of the ride it was that scary. Hit my chin several times on the top of the restraint but I was so scared that the pain was literally numbed. When we stopped just before the end I thought there was gonna be more and my best friend who went on the ride before had to tell me that we were at the end. I wish I saw this video before I went because at first I did want to go on this ride but now that I’ve been on it, NEVER AGAIN. I don’t hate the ride but I don’t love it, it scared me to DEATTHHH. I swear I felt my soul leave my body but it couldn’t go anywhere because we were going so fast.

Coaster enthusiast here, I rode this coaster only twice when I went to Universal Orlando because of the long wait time, but it's already one if, if not, my new favorite coaster. I was reduced to a laughing mess at the final brake run. This is without a doubt a must-ride for anyone going to Universal, as well as Hulk. Both rides are insanely good, however I personally put Velocicoaster higher than Hulk for a few reasons. The lap bars on Velocicoaster allow for more freedom of movement than the over-the-shoulder restraints on Hulk, and Velocicoaster has more airtime moments as well. If you are even slightly apprehensive about riding either of them, do it, as they are both amazing coasters. Word of advice: Put your hands up at the heartline roll at the end of Velocicoaster, trust me when I say it's one of the most exhilarating feelings of any coaster I've ridden.

I'm a passholder and we've been riding this every weekend for the past two months. I LOVE IT!! I also think the roll near the end over the water is by far the scariest part. The acceleration is extremely intense and exciting. Even though it's only a lap bar, the sturdiness of the restraint and the depth of the seat keep you firmly in place. I grew up in Central Florida and I have the complete trust in the safety of any rides at Universal or Disney. The motorbike coaster Hagrids is also worth a go. It is extremely fun!

Wow! I wish I had seen this review before riding the VelociCoaster. I rode front row and I wouldn’t change a word you said, the big drop is smooth, but I was scared about the restrains being a lap bar only, I was terrified about moving out of the seat for so many times, and yes, the ending was the scariest part hands down. For these reasons I like the Hulk better, but I hope one day I can go back and ride the VelociCoaster in a different section as the front car, front row was not for me.

I went on this ride 3 times last year in the summer, and I’m going to ride it a 4th this month for my senior trip. It is the best ride I have ever been on. The line may be long, even with the fast pass. But trust me when I say this: it is 100% worth the wait. The 2nd launch is so much more intense than the 1st one, and you’re not even in your seat for like 80% of the ride. However, that’s where the restraint comes in clutch. You can enjoy that feeling of flying safely. And it’s relatively new, so it won’t go into bad condition any time soon. These roller coasters are constantly being monitored, especially at large theme parks like this. It’s such a thrilling ride; would 100% recommend if you’re into roller coasters.

the roll its pretty special, as someone who knows a lot about coasters heartline rolls arent usually this intense since they are taken at low speeds or at the top of a climb. But due to how fast you are going and the profiling of the mosasaurus roll its probably one of the strongest elements in a modern coaster. i havent ridden this coaster yet (i havent ridden many due to my location, but i like reading and watching content about the amusement industry), but people who have ridden it say that the final roll its absolutely terrifying. Luckily its at the very end of the ride so you can probably just tank it.

Fantastic coaster! Easily the most exciting at Universal but I would put Hagrid's up with it for theming and just overall fun experience. After those two I would put Mako and Manta at Seaworld. It's a great resort area where I think the Hulk is #5. I can't wait to move there!

This is the best review of Velocicoaster that I have seen. I am a coaster fan of many years, yet after my first ride on Velocicoaster, I was terrified of that heartline roll. I was not expecting that element to scare me, but it did. I made myself ride it again and again to get over the fear of that roll. It took me about 6 times until I was able to let go and fully enjoy it. Now, it's my favorite coaster at Universal. I couldn't let Velocicoaster beat me and now I love it!!!

I have to say, I've not ridden an inverting coaster with just lap, but stunt pilot (single rail rmc) has the belt shoulder with lap bar similar to this. The seat belt like part on shoulder slides off shoulder during ride at times, and much to my surprise I was ok with that because I realized the lap bar truly held tight. And I weigh a bit more than I should so I fear them not holding me well. They do. So I feel now with the beginner like version I'd be oknwith lap only. I suggest trying a single rail like that if you can first

This review is spot on. That heartline roll is terrifying and awesome. I'm kind of obsessed with this ride -- thrilled we got to do it twice during its soft open a couple of weeks ago. Two caveats: they are serious when they warn you you can lose your glasses into the lagoon on that roll. Also, if you opt for the single rider line, you miss most of the theming in the queue, including those cool animatronic raptors. But you do get on the ride faster.

This is my 3rd ever rollercoaster and I gotta say, I think it's my favorite. I went on it three times in one day, two of those times going back to back. That S curve right off the station is the scariest part of the ride for me, because you have no idea what's coming, and even the other times I've been on it, I still am a little nervous. You can tell when it's going to launch because there's a music build up, and light tree at the opening that marks when it'll launch. There is also a slight clunk right before the launch, but knowing when the launch is doesn't take away how intense it is. Once it launches and it commits, I'm not scared anymore. With all the airtime and only the lap bar, I feel so free, but I also feel completely secure. In the first section of the coaster, there are a ton of "head choppers" but, if you try to keep your head glued to the headrest, and your arms down on the lap bar, it's alright. The second launch is just as intense as the first, even to the point where the train starts shaking at the end. The second scariest part of the whole ride for me was the launch up the tophat, as you see the top and you start climbing, my fear of heights kicked in. Then the drop comes. For the best drop experience, I recommend sitting near the very back, as you get whipped around the top, and you're out of your chair almost the entire drop. The drop actually isn't scary at all for me, as there are barely any G's and I felt free. For those who don't like flying, this would probably be more terrifying. One thing I recommend is to hold on to your lap bar the entire time. There are several parts in the track that try and fling you off your seat, and holding on just gives you enough security to feel free but not flying out of the train. The only reason this coaster is intense is because of speed and airtime. There are barely any G's at all. I definitely recommend going on this.
