I love how Taliesin pretty much ALWAYS joins in if he knows the tune (and is paying attention), even if he has NO goddamn idea where Sam is going with it. Example: He recognized the "bum bum bum badum badum" tune and immediately joined in, but looked just as baffled as Matt while doing it. Sam: *starts tune with no words* Tal: *joins in while wondering what fresh hell the Bard is up to* Matt: *looking around and also wondering what fresh hell his group is up to*

I love that the rest of the cast joins in without being asked

God I miss him as a bard so much- he is fantastic as a comedian and storyteller but musical spontaneity paired with comedy and drama is a gift we rarely get to see

Bard players actually singing for their inspiration are the best

I love Matt’s reaction to so many of these. A mixture of “why?!” And trying not to laugh, all while loving every minute

Oh 6:50 is one of my all time favorite moments. Not only is the song great, but everyone getting into it and Laura beating on the table. So good! 11:28 is also iconic. Watching the top table just fall onto each other is perfection. This is also great because I get to be emo over old seating arrangements.

Dithrin Myers Yes, but... I started my D&D5e adventures as a halfling bard, and regularly sang at the table for my party BECAUSE of Scanlan. You could say he “inspired” a whole new generation of bards to sing it loud and proud. Of course, my personal favorites are those who express their bardom through alternate artist expression: dance, oratory, acrobatics, mime! 🤣

This is what I love the most about Critical Role. It's like a hive mind where one person makes a reference and then everyone else jumps on it and keeps it going for anywhere from a few seconds to the next eight minutes.
