Super great tutorial, Doug ! I’ve been looking for this chaining patterns function for a few days ! It’s great. I suppose it’s in the excellent manual but i haven’t looked at it yet, busy as i was messing around with this great plugin. Awesome stuff ! Thanks !

Excellent work again Brother. Every time you put one of these videos up you show me something I've missed. I love Scaler, it keeps me occupied for hours.

Thanks Doug! Awesome demo of the seq and song building. I love this app on my Mac, and now it will be more accessible. I can see some improvements to the workflow. That copy pattern needs a shortcut. I assume this can be exported to midi and the Scaler desktop version?

Great explanation! Scaler 2 is great but it’s somewhat difficult to get going…

Love and respect your in-depth videos, but I think the iOS music community needs more “how it all works together” focus. You touch on it by using AUM and sometimes a DAW like GB or Cubasis, but much is left to the novice to determine where individual apps fit into their own workflow. iOS music is by nature very modular and fun for tinkerers but for traditional song composers it can seem daunting. So many app choices, all with unique capabilities…

Thanks for the comment, and I agree entirely. The problem is that, as you say, so many choices, all with unique capabilities. It’s practically impossible for me, or anyone to cover everything all the time, I have to make a choice of what host apps to use when demoing an App, and I have to feel comfortable in that environment too. So for me, the main purpose of the videos to show you a particular app, in a workflow I have chosen that works for me. Then it’s down to the individual to see if that would work in their workflow etc. I do try and keep as many of videos beginner friendly, but I understand that everything I do is not going to reflect what other people may want to do👍😊

Thanks, Doug. This video helped to answer some questions I had. Maybe I'm missing something here but In your fourth pattern shouldn't everything before B major stopped to play allowing just "blocks" after that B major chord play Only, then continue pattern 5, or is that a bug that will be addressed in the next firmware update?

No, it doesn’t work like that Jim, if you want to do that you can put rests in, these are treated just like chords but with no sound.

Thanks, Doug. That makes sense and I've used rests in my first go with Scaler 2 a few days ago. Thanks for the clarification.

When I use scaler with cubasis I can’t seem to access the stock sounds within the app. They disappear and I can only use midi sounds from cubasis or auv3.

Are you opening Scaler in the MIDI FX slot or the instrument slot?

@@TheSoundTestRoom I’ve been opening scaler within the midi effects slot. I’m guessing by your reply you can just add it to a track as a stand alone auv3?

  • @TheSoundTestRoom

Yes, that’s correct, just open it like a normal AUv3, you will then be able to use Scalers sounds👍
