Have you ever tried using a wool roving for the heads and if so how did it work?

Could you tell me what size the hook is please? I have used bass hooks before but it may just be the magnification but this hook looks Big! I know a largemouth can bite almost anything, they even eat each other if they can get the fish past their large mouth. Small mouth bass, not so big?? All the best, Sean
